How do you calculate your calling date?

Hi All,

Does anyone have a site or program you can use to determine when to call Member Services for a reservation? Also, I'm sure it's changed now that MS is open on Saturdays as well.

Caskbill has a great tool he created called the DVC planner. I'm not sure of the link but it will tell you when the 11 and 7 months windows open for a particular reservation. It is definitely worth downloading.....Also compares resorts and point requirements.........he did a great job.....

Very easy....Take your planned checkout date...go back 11 months and call on that date. For the 7 month window, take your planned checkout date...go back 7 months to the date, and that is when you call. It really isn't rocket science. The only times there can be issues is when it's a leap year, and February has an extra day. Kind of messes up the system a bit. So for example: If you want to check out on December 10th of 2007, you will make your reservation on January 10th of 2007. If you want to book January 5 of 2008, you call on February 5th of 2007. For the 7 month window, January 5 of 2008 would be June 5th of 2007.

Go to www.caskbill.com and download the planner software. Very easy to use, and has a lot of great features.

I agree with Diane that it's not very difficult, since DVC used months instead of days. So you count back to the same date in a given month instead of a number of days.

Still, the software is so cool I'd recommend it anyway!

In addition the DVC website has "Alerts" on what date you can start booking at the 7 & 11 month window and they also include banking reminders. Go to "My Dvc" section and select points and it will be the 1st thing you'll see.
