how do you book?

for those of us new to dvc,we'll be able to book starting dec1.my question is to the experienced:
when you book your days at dvc , do you book day by day or wait 'til your window less the amount of your stay and then book it all at once.sorry if this is a bit muddled but for those of you who have done it , i'm sure you'll know what i mean.

I have never booked day by day for OKW...however, I can understand the need to do so during extremely busy holiday travel periods. Other than that, a single booking should work.

When you call MS they will be able to tell you how it looks for your planned dates. Unless you are booking a "prime week"(Easter,x-mas,1st 2 weeks Dec,etc) or a GV, you should be able to book your reservation all at once.

We only book day by day if we want a GV or Beach Cottage.

I have never booked day-by-day at BWV, even for standard view, except at Easter a few years ago (and in 2005). Even at Christmas I had no trouble getting ressies, although I went for preferred then. I can't imagine that SSR would be in that much demand right away, except perhaps for the first day opening. I do know from experience that the day that BCV opened, it was very hard to get ressies.

I never book day by day for my stays(BWV standard view usually), I book according to the date of check out.
I have not had a problem so far(first week of Dec, SEpt, Oct and May stays)
I am calling tomorrow to book my stay next October, and then calling back Monday for the last day, but that's only because I think Monday will be verrry busy at MS, so I want to get the bulk of my vacation booked just in case I can't get through Monday.

The only thing I ever booked day to day was a standard 2BR at the BWV for New Year's week. Even doing that I was waitlisted for New Year's eve and didn't get the standard view for that night until I checked in. Even Christmas at the VWL was no problem calling at 11 months from check out.
