How do you book?

How do you book your trip? AAA, through the website, through a TA. I am trying to decide the best way to book!

I book directly with WDW by phone-I like doing all the research myself and deciding what package is best and then calling. I have read where a lot of people use AAA. I guess it just depends on if you want or have the time to figure out everything and then be on the phone for a while-otherwise I would go with AAA or a TA.

I guess a lot of that depends on when you are looking to go and if there are discounts at that time. When are you planning on going (if you don't mind me asking)?

Are there any other discounts or better rate you get from a ta or AAA verses going through disney direct?

When Disney gives out the discount code, your TA or AAA can call and have it added but I have read that some people have a hard time getting what they were after with the discount because their TA didn't call quick enough. But no, not that I am aware of-I just like being able to call right away when the codes come out so I get what I want.

We are planning on going after Thanksgiving of 2008. Like that first week after.

I used a TA on the last trip and plan on doing it again on the next. Plan on giving Dreams Unlimited a try.

That's the week I am going this year!!! Disney usually gives out codes for that time of year. Typically Disney's discounts are better than AAA-but not always, so its best to do some research. And I think, and someone post and correct me if I am wrong,but I think that if you book through AAA or TA you have to go through them to make any changes, you can't call Disney direct to do them yourself.

If you are a AAA member, there are package discounts available only through AAA. If you want room only, you can use the AAA discount yourself with Disney or another TA. I booked this time using my annual passholder discount code.

Last year, I booked online through Disney when they offered the free dining. I booked in May for a trip in September. Was easy.

This year, I was planning on doing the same for our December trip, but I wanted to wait until Disney offered package discounts. As I watched the site, the standard view rooms at Wilderness Lodge sold out, as did the Woods view rooms. This was in early June! I decided to go ahead and book through MouseFanTravel.com as they advertised that they would be able to apply any package discounts at a later date if/when they became available. Sure enough, when the most recent discounts were announced, I received an email letting me know my new package price.

I will never again purchase through Disney since MouseFanTravel.com does not charge anything extra for their services. They will also make ADRs for you and order tickets to special events, etc.

I have heard good things about Mousefantravel.com too.

If you did choose to go with Disney, you can go ahead and book your trip with them and then apply a discount when it comes out-the only difference is that you have to look for the discount to come out, you don't have the convenience of a TA doing the looking for you.

I book the rooms thru MS for DVC and I book everything else direct or online.
