I just did this in June and it was a great time.
I don't remember the cost but it wasn't cheap as my friend booked it. She had to call, it wasn't available to book online. I just looked; it's $69 for adults and $41 for kids.
I would imagine that they would run it during the holiday period, it's the busiest time of year. When we went, there were 2 boats going out.

I was blown away that it is already completely booked for our trip November. If you can book it, don't delay. I called about a time, and they had some availability. I wanted to look at our schedule first, so I said I'd call back in an hour. It was sold out when we called back

Keep trying! I called on July 5th to book for our November trip. Our first choice was fully booked and so were my two alternate choices. When I called back on July 15th I was able to book our first choice no problem. We booked our first Pirates and Pals last year- booked in early September for a late-October night. People cancel all the time, you just need to go through the pain of calling since it can't be booked online.

It's a cruise in the Seven Seas Lagoon for Wishes viewing. Before the cruise, the group starts in the Contemporary, and in one of the conference rooms where they have a meet and greet with Captain Hook and Smee, as well as some snacks. The group is split into two boats, each with a pirate host who entertains with sing alongs, Disney trivia, etc, while waiting for the electrical water pageant and Wishes. After Wishes is over, you sail back and get a meet and greet with Peter Pan. It's a really fun way to see Wishes, and for fans of Capt Hook and Smee, it's one of the few ways to meet them.
