I'm planning on fly to Orlando the day before our first day at WDW. If I want to have my arrival day at WDW without park tickets how do I book this online through Disney?

Is it as simple as choosing for example 5 ticket days and 5 nights at the resort?

I'm not exactly sure what you are looking for. Do you need just to book just a room for one night before your regular resort reservation starts?? If so, you can book a room only online at Disney's official site. You don't have to have tickets.
Have you already booked a stay at a WDW resort..one that has tickets as well?? Or are you just looking for that first night, with no tickets included to fill in before the 'regular' reservation starts??

You can book just about anything you need online. You can book the room and then add tickets for however long you need them. Or, you can book just the room and no tickets...or you can book a whole package.

If you book a package online you can choose how many days you want tickets and customize with all the options (or not) right on the site. Or if you call Disney you can just tell them as you go.

I think if you are wanting the dining plan then you have to get tickets for the amount of days you are there...but I am not 100% positive about that.

Everyone does it differently. There are different downpayment requirements and balance payment terms depending on if you buy a package (room, tickets, and/or dining) or room only. We usually wait and take advantage of room only discounts and then buy our tickets separately when we get there. You can customize your trip any way you want to!

Good Luck!

What I'm looking for is this :) :
I don't have anything booked yet. I would like to have a room only for one night and then a package for the next 5 nights.

Do I have to make this 2 bookings?
Make one booking for the first night room only then a second booking for the package?

Thank you for your reply. I didn't see the reply before I made my second post. I think I have figured out how I can book it after reading your reply :)

Still confused. If you wish to stay at a different resort the first night, you'll need a separate ressie.

If you wish to simply have fewer days park tickets than you have room nights, I'm pretty sure you can specify how many days you want your tickets for while booking the MYW package.

But the simplest thing, IMO, would be to not book a package. Look for a good room-only discount, book that for all the nights you wish to stay. Then buy your park tickets separately, for as many days as you want. Once you check in to the resort, you can have the park tickets encoded onto your room keys if you like, at the concierge desk.

All this advice goes out the window if you're looking to book a "free dining" package, but I have no idea what you're really after from your posts.

Ah, okay...I get it. What kind of pkg are you thinking of booking??? You can book the same reservation for all the nights, but get park passes for only the days you need them. And if you want dining as well, I 'believe' you can add it for certain days...say, the last 5 nights of your stay.
I'm just not sure you can do that online...you may have to call Disney directly to do what you need done.

This sounds like the easiest way to book it.
Thank you all for your help
