How do you become a castaway club member?

Do you automatically become a castaway club member if you have sailed with Disney before or does it work like the vacation club member?

Also, do you receive any kind of discount if you are a castaway club member?

You automatically become a member after your first DCL cruise!

No, no discounts that I'm aware of, but you do get to get in a different line for check-in at the port and there's usually some sort of Captain's reception onboard for Castaway Club members. You might get a goodie in your room, too, when you first arrive as a thank-you for sailing with them again.

Once you sailed ONCE, you are automatically a CC member.

No real discounts, special check in line, CC gifts, and such..But NEVER any discounts.

You just need to sail once to become a member. You will not get any discounts on cruises by being a member. I believe you get a stateroom gift and get to have a "get together" with the Captain.

You also get reserve Excursions and Palo earlier than the general public.

And technically you DO get a 10% discount on a future booking as well as stateroom credit- however, you'd have to get that only by booking on your present cruise. But technically that's only for repeat cruisers- no one can get that unless they've been on a cruise before, actually have to be ON that cruise and rebook onboard to get that discount.

but it's still a discount and stateroom credit that no one can get unless they've cruised before- and even though you have to rebook onboard, you can later transfer your reservation to another date and still keep the 10% discount and stateroom credit.
