How do we keep a cat from using the flower bed as a litter pan?

A stray showed up about 3 months ago. She is really sweet & my boys are very attached to her. DH is also attached (as am I). DH works hard on the landscaping & the cat is ruining it. Does anyone have any suggestions for keeping her out of the flowerbed?

I have a stray that showed up in my yard too (she actually moved into my screen porch through her own private door ) but I moved her into the house and ma keeping her and eagerly awaiting her kittens which are due any day!

My mother swears by mothballs. SHe has these wild squirrels who dig up her flowers and toss them out of the bed. She buries a couple moth balls and the squirrels leave her beds alone. She says it also works for cats. Haven't had to due thaat yet!

I've heard the mothballs work. Never had to use them though.

We had a mother stray give birth under an overhang of our house. They were so cute we fell in love with them. We watched as they grew and toddled around. One day she moved the whole family out and into the woods.

I heard somewhere that Marigolds kept cats away but since I don't have any cats around I haven't been able to try it. Does anyone know if this is true?

I had this problem with cats and dogs. I called a nursery who told me to put nails face up to hurt their paws!!
I obviously didn't care for that idea so I called a veterinarian's office and they told me to put cayenne pepper and either horseradish or garlic in water and spray or dump it where the animals like to "go". It seems to have worked, but they keep finding new spots. No problems yet this year though!
