How do we get from POR to AKL?

We are staying at POR and plan to visit AKL, what is the best route? We will also have a car if that would make it easier...

If you have a car, the easiest thing to do would be to drive. That will give you the most freedom. Just follow the signs to the AK and then as you get closer, you will see the signs for the Lodge.
