I remember water being like $2.50 a bottle or something?? do u bring your own water? how do u keep it cold?

I start off by bringing one bottle for each of us, when we finish them, we refill from the "cold" fountians. I would go broke at $2.50 per bottle with my kids...:smooth:

Hi,

Yes, $2.50 is still the going rate of a bottle of water. I believe they are 24oz with a sport cap at most places. We do not bring our own. I just hook it to a bottle strap and when it is hot the water is done before it can get warm.

We find that we do not drink as much water during our "winter" trip as it isjust not hot enough. During our "late summer" trips we always have a water in hand. Very hot even in mid to late September.

We drink Poweraides in the park or Gatoraides whichever they currently have..so we do not bring water with us or buy it there. It gives us more energy we have found and replenishes what your body loses with all the heat in the hot months. In cooler months we still drink them in the parks, but not as many as in September and all......:sunny:

I usually use 2 water bottles to get me through a day. I've got 1 big bottle (1/2 gallon) that I keep in the fridge in the breakroom, and drink out of that bottle during breaks, and use it to refill my smaller bottle. (note: this option doesn't really work without a breakroom fridge, but you could keep a larger water bottle in a backpack/diaper bag/small cooler) (note #2: I got my half-gallon water jug at Walgreens, but I'm sure there are other places that sell them)

The smaller bottle is a 20 oz bottle in a (slightly insulated) case with belt clip, that I wear on my belt. I usually completely fill this bottle, and freeze it over night. Then I take it out of the freezer, and wear it all day long. Even with the body heat, there's usually still some ice in the bottle for 4-5 hours, which works out well since most of my shifts are 6 hour shifts.

Most (all?) counter-service and sit down restaurants in WDW will give you a free cup of ice water if you ask. Outdoor merchandise stands (that only sell bottled drinks) won't be able to do this.

We saved a lot of money by buying a pair of BRITA filtered water bottles! We would fill them anywhere and ask for ice from vendors and counter service location to keep them cold. The bottles themselves are larger then I would like, but once you own them, you will find out that the spout unscrews with the filter, and I think you can put this onto other bottles - I haven't tried this, but I plan to in the future.

There is also a bottled water filter made by Richard Simmons, they sell them on hsn.com and a few other places. They probably work just as well.

Good luck!

I usually take a case of bottled water. Before going to bed, I'll put as many as possible in the freezer part of the little refrigerator & stick them in our back pack before leaving for the parks.

cool tips!! u guys are smart! i will try to ice up a bottle in hotel :drinking1:

Don't know if you have kids/stroller, but we brought a soft sided cooler for our water & kept it in the basket of the stroller. The last day when I wanted to pack the cooler I just stuck our water bottles in a gallon size ziploc freezer bag filled with ice (around the water bottles). I had one Brita Fill & Go bottle & when our bottled water ran out I would refill the Brita from the drinking fountain, pour it into the empty water bottle & stick it back in the cooler/ziploc bag. Even when the ice melted, the water in the bag stayed pretty cold.

Water can get very expensive, even if its only a couple of you. You need to keep hydrated, so when you're feeling a little thirsty, just stop by a counter service and ask for a drink of water. They are more then willing to give you some!::yes::

I either make a grocery stop and chill a couple of bottles overnight in my ice bucket each day, or just buy a bottle in the morning at the park, and refill it at water fountains or soda machines that have water throughout the day.

We use a camelback backpack. Each of us have one. They are backpacks with bladders inside that you can fill with a hose that comes out and a mouth piece where you can sip your water. The mouthpiece is always there and water is always available to you.

In the morning we fill them with ice from the campground and then water. SOmetimes we buy one bottle of water to start the day. When we have lunch we ask for a large cup of ice water and refill the bladder. My bladder holds 3 liters. These also come in waistbags. The backpacks are varying sizes but most can at least hold your poncho for rain. We have one for each of us but I have used one when I was on a trip with just my son when he was younger.

We get a case of water and a styrofoam cooler at the grocery store (about $3). Each day DH and I each take a "lunchbag style" small cooler bag in our shoulder bags which holds 2 waters (total 4 between us). I drink 1 water over the course of the day; DD and DS each drink 1/2 bottle; DH has his bottle and will finish whatever's left. Mid day we return to the room and replenish the waters before we go out again. If we take the car we also take the styrofoam cooler so we have ice cold drinks in the trunk when we leave the parks.

We take at least 2 bottles - one frozen and 1 not. By the time we finish the cold one, the frozen one is mostly melted =)

When we stay in a DVC 1 bedroom with a fridge, we buy bottles of water at the Winn-Dixie. I empty half of the water out of the first bottles and freeze them. Then in the morning, fill them up the rest of the way with the next bottle. I have insulated water holders that I bought at the outlet. The frozen part stays cold most of the day. Then that night I freeze the remainder of the bottle from the morning.

They now sell smaller bottles in the parks for $1.25.

I bring the Brita water bottle. In the morning, I'll fill it up with 3/4 full of ice and just a little water from the food court. Then when Im walking in the parks, the ice starts to melt a little at a time and I have nice cold water.

Then during lunch, I'll ask for a cup of ice and refill the bottle up. Then I can just refill the bottle with water from the fountains.

Since DH is a big soda drinker, we typically stop a lot for soda. While he buys a soda, I always just ask for a cup of ice. They're free, and with the Brita bottle, it's easy to fill the bottle up with ice.

This past trip I forgot my brita so I ended up just asking for a cup of water at every counter service restaurant we stop at.

Bring a soft sided cooler. Freeze a couple of water bottles and use them as ice packs. Put some not frozen in and save the frozen ones for last.
