We are heading to DW for winter break and just made these ADR. With the exception of Chef Mickey's (and we are going for breakfast instead of dinner this time) we've never been to any of these places.

Boatwright's for dinner (we get to POR this day)

Chef Mickey's for breakfast

Garden Grill for dinner

Ohana's for dinner

Yak and Yeti for dinner

Since we just decided last night to go this winter break, I feel lucky to be able to get these ADR!

Anyone, anyone??? Just wondering if I should try to change these for any other ressies. I am traveling with 3 boys (10, 5, 5)

We love Ohana's for dinner!!! That's the only one I can post on. We are trying Chef Mickey's for Breakfast for the first time this year.

Thanks! I've been spending all day going back and forth. I'm so indecisive and afraid that I'm missing something better - just my nature! I know I should be happy to have gotten the ressies I have since DH and I just decided to book last night, and I made them all today.

Have you considered Boma instead of Y&Y? Boma is wonderful and AKL is a treat to visit.

Chef Mickey's was awesome for breakfast!

I didn't, but that's a thought. I read that Y&Y also has counter service... I think I'll call tomorrow and see if there is an opening. Thanks :)

AKL has the possibility of animal viewing, there is evening storytelling around a campfire pit and there is drumming parade for the kids. We didn't do the parade or storytelling, but we did go back beyond the pool for animal viewing and a little time in the playground before dinner. The pager they give you is supposed to work all around the pool area. Ours went off just as we return to the lodge.

Our 6yo ate pretty well and was comfortable in the restaurant.

I can't speak to Y&Y, but Boma gets a really high marks from our family.

Can I ask when your winter break is? I couldn't get any ADRs for our trip at the end of January due to a system upgrade... :confused3

We absolutely loved Yak and Yeti. It was our favorite dinner this past week. It is awesome!

We LOVE Garden Grill. I think your boys will really like that one too. We haven't eaten at Chef Mickeys or Yak&Yeti but will be trying them soon. I have heard good things. I would honestly say that we didn't care for Ohana's dinner. We ate there last summer and they changed the menu. They didn't have the yummy pineapple with the caramel sauce like before. Also the meat was just so-so. The veggies were good though. If your boys are meat eaters then they will probably like it. I'm not much of a meat eater and my meat has to be seasoned very well for me to enjoy it so maybe that's why our experience wasn't that great. However, they did do coconut races that our DD liked. All in all I say go for it just letting you know some of the negatives too!

Oh and just one more thing. We really prefer the Ohana's breakfast to their dinner. The food is sooo good and you get to meet Lilo&Stitch, Mickey, Minnie, Goofy. It was alot of fun!

We dined at the GG several times when my older DD was btw the ages of 2-12. We enjoyed it, obv., *** we kept returning. I think I like the idea of a TS in the WS better now, though. I like the idea of having a different kind of food (German, Mexican, Japanese etc..)

As for 'Ohana... The shoddy service we recieved there last summer completely ruined a special occaision for my family. I left the Poly in tears that eve (after hardly eating). We made ourselves clear that we didnt want to be rushed, but they couldnt wait to over load the table with salad, chips, apps, sides... (you get the image) THEN they started offering the skewers of barely warm (dried out) meats. BLECH!!! To top it all off. I don't eat bread pudding ((at least DH and our honored guest liked the shrimp, salad, wings and dessert)) I went back to the room and ate from the ASMO food court. Liked that MUCH better.

I have seen many reviews since of substandard service at 'Ohana:sad2:

Our break is from 12/24-1/5. We are going to DW from 12/25-12/30.

My DH and I are not a big breakfast food eaters, which is why we chose Ohana for dinner rather than breakfast. I am getting concerned with the bad service reports that I have heard about Ohana.... especially since we are going at such a busy time! I am going to talk to DH (and see of Boma is even available) when we are scheduled for Ohana. Since all of our other meals are booked, I don't even want to try to juggle them around again!

If not, I guess we'll just stick with Ohana for dinner and hope for the best!

Boma is really, really greatfor dinner. Give it a try!
