Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon??

We are considering doing the Atlantis/Comfort Suites thing but since we are going to WDW for 3 days after the cruise, we may just end up going to one of their water parks. I personally feel one water park in 7 days is more than enough, so if I had to choose, which one would you suggest? We were at WDW for the first time in January, but it was soooo cold that we didn't do a water park. The kids were very disappointed so I promised them we would definitely do one on our next trip.

There are a few other deciding factors, number one being that we are a family of 5 and both hotels only allow 4 per room. I did read of a family that got 5 bracelets but I'm a bit nervous about taking any chances at that price (x 1.52 to converted to Canadian $$).

Another factor would be that we will have 7 day park hopper plus passes which include some visits to the water park, therefore, not actually costing anymore money. Would we be better off doing something else while in Bahamas?

Any and all opinions are welcome, good or bad.

Hmmmm... hard choice.

I would say in number and types, the 2 Disney waterparks have Atlantis beat.

But there is a cool factor for the 1 long slide and tube slide going thru a tube in the shark tank.

But as far as time of enjoyment I still lean towards the Disney waterparks.

Thanks so much for the replies MickeyMagic and MarkG. Anyone else care to offer any opinion?

Does anyone feel that Atlantis is the way to go?

Thanks again!

Just bumping this up, hoping for some more opinions.....

Thanks,

really tough call.....
we're water park people so we rarely pass up the chance to try a new one...(no matter the time of year, we hit all the WDW water parks....alas, there are only two now....:(

using the slides at atlantis is REALLY expensive......and having to do the whole check-in/out process at a hotel is also a bit of a pain.....having said that, we very much enjoyed the pools/slides there.....we spent about an hour doing the pyramid slides (there were very very very long lines for the slides....atlantis is HUGE with lots and lots and lots of guests.....making long lines at the slides)....
we then moved over to the pools by the coral beach hotel part of the complex and spent about another hour in the lazy river there....
we'd had enough by about 2:30 when we raced back to the ship to make it to the special screening of lilo and stitch on the big screen.....

as for blizzard and typhoon.....another hard call....
i think we like blizzard better than typhoon.....however typhoon has a spectacular wave pool....
regardless of which one you go to, be there before opening...
for the first hour you won't encounter lines, but then, forget it...the lines get excruciatingly long.....
whether it's blizzard or typhoon, we stay until 11 or 12 and then leave.....i'm always amazed by all the people who come when we're leaving.....what ARE they thinking by coming that late...
of course if you like to lie in the sun i suppose you can stay longer...we never lie in the sun, so once the lines get unbearable we're out of there...

ok....so......my opinion.....
are there other things at nassau you'd like to do?....
is there a dolphin swim or something like that?....
if i had to pick only one, i think i'd go with blizzard beach (but be warned....the stairs at blizzard can kill you.....my daughter complains about the stairs non-stop.....for that reason she prefers typhoon)......

as for us, next time we cruise we'll probably do Atlantis again....(it's up to the kids to decide)...

probably not much help was i.....

i just noticed that you're going in feb/march.....it still might be too cold in orlando to swim.....also, usually they close each water park for a month in the winter for refurbishment (obviously not at the same time).....so you may have no choice as to which one you go to....the other one might be closed.....you can call to find out as these things are scheduled far in advance...

oh....i just remembered....they're adding a really cool slide at typhoon that might be open by the time you go....i forgot what it's called but the only other one in the country right now is in texas....i think it's called the master blaster or something like that...so that might be something to consider....
