How do people tend to dress at dinner time (TS restaurants)?

Here are the places we are going to for dinners while at WDW this July:

Liberty Tree Tavern at MK
Crystal Palace at MK
1900 Park Fare at Grand Floridian
Boma at AK Lodge
Biergarten at Epcot

Okay, I know that we will be wearing shorts and t-shirts or tank tops in the theme parks already, so that is what we will wear to dinner. If my husband is wearing a tank top, will they let him into the restaurants? If not, he will just wear a t-shirt instead. At the 2 dinners we are going to in hotels, are shorts and tanks or tees appropriate? Or should we change before dinner?

Please forgive me if I sound ignorant or like a snob...I'm really not a snob at all, and also not used to this type of vacation yet. We used to go on cruises but now with little kids we are starting to do vacations like Disney. On our cruises, we had to dress a little nicer for dinner than during the day (e.g., no shorts in the dining room at dinner). So that is what I am used to. Most people here will probably laugh at me!

You will be fine at all of those places in your regular touring clothes.
I will add that when we travel in summer, we like to head back to the resort in the afternoon and we will put on fresh clothes before heading out to dinner because our other ones are gross.
Also, are you heading to 1900 Park Faire for dinner or breakfast? If you are going for dinner, many of the little girls will be dressed in their best princess finery. We went last year and since DD was all decked out in her Cinderella gown, we thought we would all dress decently to set help set the whole mood. (Which just meant button down shortsleeve shirts for the boys and capris and a nice top for me.)

When you make your ADR's if there is a "dress code" they tell you at that time. None of the places you listed had a dress code. Except for V&A I think the only dress code for some of the nicer resort restaurants is no cut offs, no bathing suits or cover-ups and perhaps no tank tops -(Don't remember for sure on that - DH would rather die the be seen in public in a tank top!) I made ADR's tonight and was told there was a code for Citrico's, California Grill, Artist Point & I think Yachtsman's Steakhouse - in other words - the Signature dining.

In the parks even at the nicer restaurants - if you can wear it in the park, you can wear it in the restaurant.

At the park restaurants, regular park attire is perfectly acceptable. In the hotel restaurants, your DH might be more comfortable in a tee.

Whatever you do, don't overthink it. You're there to have fun. Just make sure to dress comfortably and you'll be fine.

You'll be fine. The only thing that I will caution you about is the tank top. Those restaurants can get cold so I usually don't eat inside when I have something smaller than a T shirt on. That's just me, though. My husband sits across from me and thinks I'm nuts.

We usually go dressed in our park attire. That being said, we usually wear our t-shirts or polo shirts on the day we are going to the resort restaurants just because they tend to get a bit chilly.

You sound like my family this time last year. We too are used to cruises, we have taken our DD on three.

Last year we went back to the hotel to change each day. It was exhausting to say the least this year we will pack a polo in our bag for DH to change into for dinner. It seems like if you would wear it to TGIFridays than it is okay in the resort and park restaurants, even CRT we were very surprised.

I know that I will wear skorts & a pretty shirt or tank top to most places. I think you may find it to be a bit more casual than a cruise, but shorts, flip flops and t-shirts are definately not the attire for the resort or "signature" restaurants (at least not for my family).

My DH will wear a Polo shirt with khaki pants (probably the kind w/zipper at the knee he favors those with the extra sun protection in the cloth)...he was badly burned in a fire and is currently restricted from wearing shorts (or he would wear khaki shorts!!!).

As I said, I will wear a pair of skorts (or capri pants) & a nice shirt/tank top (with sandals). My DD6 will wear a dress or shorts & tank w/princess dress to put on over it!!! For younger boys I would put them in a polo shirt, shorts & sneakers w/socks.

I'm sure whatever you choose you will look fine!!!!

You'll see everything at WDW, wear what you are comfortable in (with those few exceptions for restaurants with a dress code). If you are not eating in a park, I would change before dinner just because one does get sweaty and grungy in the parks. It's just a nicer feeling to shower and put on some clean clothes (as time allows).

You will deffinately find a variety of clothing options. Although if we are not doing a signature resturant....we normally just change after the parks and wear something we're comfortable in.

At the restaurants you have chosen you won't be turned away as long as you don't show up in swim suits.

That said, your DH may feel more appropriately dressed in a nice t-shirt or polo shirt.

My husband thinks I am nuts too because I am always cold! We'll be sitting in the livingroom and it will be 70 degrees in the house, and I will feel cold! I think it might have to do with the fact that last May I gave birth to our younger son, and I lost over 50 pounds afterwards! I got rid of a 50-pound coat that used to keep me warmer!

Okay, we will keep it casual. If we take a break and go back to the hotel on days we eat at the parks, we will shower quickly and change there (at least I will!), and also on days we eat at resorts.
