How do I sign up for the DDP if I rent points?

We're staying at SSR and I rented points to do this but we want to be on the dining plan. Someone told me that we would have to do that when we arrive. Is that correct? Or do I need to contact my agent and have him contact member services to add it on?

It definitely has to be done before you arrive. Have your agent contact MS & add it to your reservation. You pay for the plan at check in

who did you rent points from? Not sure what you mean by agent?

If you rented from an individual, they have to call and add DDP onto your reservation for you at least 3 days prior to arrival

Thanks for the replies. I've e-mailed my agent and am awaiting his response.

In answer to your question, I rented from David at DVC rentals. He's a points broker that works as a mediator between the DVC owners and people wanting to rent points. I suppose he would have to contact the people I rented from and have them add the DDP on.

He just e-mailed me and has added the DDP on to the reservation.

If one member isn't able to go, will we be able to cancel the DDP upon arrival for that person?
