In 2010 on the Magic, my daughter and I would open the door to listen to the morning announcements. One day we had the TV on and found we didn't need the door open. We may have been watching some sort of weather Channel. We had quite a bit of wicked weather and watched the ship sailing on the map through the weather.
Over a year a ago I couldn't seem to find those announcements on the TV and I'm never found them outside in the halls. I found those announcements very helpful. I don't know how to find them when I'm on the Wonder this July in Alaska.
Can anyone tell me how to find these announcement so that I can listen to them in the morning? I'm guessing they must be on the TV? I just don't have any idea how to find them I looked for seven days last year.

If I remember right there is a book in each stateroom with information. Including TV channel info.

Guess I'm going to have to go upto deck 9 and do a little reading when I get there!

As I recall, when you first turn on your TV, the channel with the Bridge information comes on. It shows where the ship is and gives current weather conditions. When there is an announcement, the announcement will play on that channel. Your room steward also has that channel on when you first get into your room.

There are several channels under like #5 that you will hear any ship announcements played on. One of them is the information channel that has the weather, the ships speed, where it is, etc. They have another channel with a view from the bridge and then also a channel that plays a little show from the cruise director (at least on the Dream). I don't remember the exact numbers but they were the lower channels. I'm sailing out on the Dream later today. If I can find the channel guide I'll grab a pic for you (or at least write down what they are).

Thank you that be wonderful I'd really love to see that.

best thing to do is call the pursers desk or ask your stateroom host which channel is for the announcements

Hope this helps

No channel guide paper but here you go:

1- Entertainment Schedule (shipboard announcements played here)

2- Character schedule Schedule (shipboard announcements played here)

3- Weather/Ship location

4- Bridge Camera

5- Cruise Director show

I'll bet that when I went in 2010 the announcements came over the weather ship location and now they don't. That would make perfect sense as to why I was trying to find it but couldn't. I'll bet they've changed a lot since 2010. There so many things to remember about a Disney Cruise that it's hard to try and forget something that once was an opportunity. Like the ability to get things signed at the guest services desk. I don't remember a bridge camera either.
