How do I use Target Red Card but pay with a different credit card?

So basically I want to use the target debit red card for the discount but want to pay for the gift cards with my credit card. I've read there is a way to do that but can't find the option when checking out.

You can pay with target gift cards but not another credit card.

You get the discount for paying with your Red card, not for simply having a Red card. The loophole is that the discount still applies when redeeming Target gift cards with the Red card as backup. You cannot get the discount if you pay with some other credit card. That's why so many people use a credit card to buy gift cards, and then use the gift cards online to buy other gift cards.
