Does anyone know how to stay overnight in the castle? I've heard they are allowing people to spend the night. Any suggestions? Thank you.

You can't just "stay" in the castle. They do let people stay there, but it's a little more involved than that.

This is "The Year of a Million Dreams." They are giving out "Dreams" and staying a night in the castle is one of those dreams, along with getting dream fast passes, lanyards, and other things.

Basically, every day, a computer generates a chart of times and locations. For example, to get a lanyard, you must be at Dinosaur at exactly 9:31 am. Or to get a night in the castle, you must be at Dumbo at exactly 12:14 pm. The Dream Team goes around to the computer generated places and finds the person at that location at that time and awards them the prize. No one knows where to be or when, it's totally random.

Anyhow, since you have your hopes on staying in the castle, I hope your dream comes true!! Good Luck!!

ya either have to be in the right place at the right time, or Ellen gave away a stay in the castle to a disadvantaged family.

Dream a million times :confused3, I have been to Disney at least 25 times, and no dream yet. I did get an upgrade for my room, but that was from Gaylord Palms....? I'll keep trying.

Also just because the Castle is in the Magic Kingdom, the winners can also come from Epcot, Hollywood Studios and the Animal Kingdom.

There is talk about after the YOMD is over, making the suite available for people if they want to pay for it, but I don't think they've worked out the logistics of that, hence no details have been announced, and they may just decide to do something else with it after the YOMD is over.

I imagine that the Castle Suite would costs thousands of dollars a night, but if money is no problem, why not?

According to my co-worker,,for $ 575.00 a night, anyone can stay overnight in the castle.

that is the estimated value for tax reasons. and at the price, you would have a 10 year back log.
the only rumor that I would lend credence to would be use for executives and special guests. or keep giving it away. But there is a large cost to maintaining that suite, they could just turn it off, board it up and it would become the lost castle suite, kinda like the apt over the Fire Station.

I wondered about this. So, you don't have to be in the Magic Kingdom to possibly win a night in the castle?

They don't allow people in the suite. You win the honor of staying in the suite. It could be you next though!

Lets see...Poly Consierge is $670. nightly...and there are "windows" to look out. I'm probably the only person that doesn't see a night in CC as a great thing.
No view/windows, no leaving room to stroll grounds, a CM on hand all night (room service & guard, I guess)..then morning escort..nah...you can have my night !! :lmao:

I don't care about staying in the castle suite but I sure would love to tour it and see it in person. It looks so gorgeous in pictures!

I would like to stay just for one night...just to say I did it.

I don't think that price is outrageous. We paid more than that for a room at the Plaza overlooking Central Park for our anniversary. It's a once in a lifetime experience.

I agree though...there would be quite a waiting list.

Is the castle suite that's awarded in YOMD the same suite that was originally built for Walt Disney himself? I see on commercials the mention of such a Walt Disney suite, but I can't tell if it's at DW or DL, or if it's even in the castle.

The one at DL is not in the castle...I believe it's in a building right over the entrance of the park.

Am I right?

There are two parts to this.

Currently the only way to get the stay in the Castle is to be at the right place at the right time. For example, the Dream Team could be told to select "the person who is sitting in the second row from the front and the third seat from the exit in Simulator #2 of Star Tours for the show that is in progress at 10:17am (or if no show in progress at that time, the show that starts right after that time)". They will select that person, and their family; take them to a private area, and then open the envelope they have which is when they first know what the prize is.

It not only includes the stay in the Castle, but also includes special viewing area for all parades and fireworks for the remainder of the day, dinner, and breakfast in the morning, as well as souveniers. There is also Butler Service in the event anything is needed during the time they are in the Suite at night and the park is closed.

Under current Federal law, the winners of any contest are required to be given an IRS Form 1099-MISC for any prize $600 or more. By stating a lower value for the prize, Disney is not required to give them the 1099 and it is incumbent upon the winners to remember the value of this prize when preparing their income taxes for the year.

I think that if Disney actually tries to rent out the Cinderella Suite once YOAMD is over the price will probably be several thousand dollars per night.

They have built at Walt Disney Suite at DL based off of blue prints that were started when Walt was still alive. I do believe he had made plans for a suite for him and his family. It is sort of the DL equivalent to the Castle Suite at WDW for the Year of a Million Dreams.

Feel free to correct me anywhere I"m wrong!

After this year, Disney should still select a family for the day to stay overnight, however they should give it to someone like a Make A Wish Child...

I think somethings money shouldn't be able to buy (no matter how much you have), the Castle being one of them!!
