My DH and I want to purchase a small amount of points from SSR. Since we are in the processing of purchasing OKW on a resale we wanted to add on a few points for SSR. However, I have called and left messages which are not getting returned. Does anyone know of a simple process to go through in order to get points. We did call a month ago and were told that we could purchase a minium amount of points for SSR.

Call member services and ask for your guide. Or stop by SSR while you are down there. Then simply open your wallet. LOL

Who are you calling? I think that your guide can't sell you add on points until you actually have a contract. If you want to add on 150 points, that would be a full contract and you can buy that now, direct from Disney.

Here you have an open wallet and no takers!

Good luck, can't wait to welcome you home.

Our guide was Myra. She has had a tendancy to not return calls or return calls 5 days later. But now that I have read that you can only book the amount of points that you own at the resort 11 months out that sort of squashes our plans.

You might want to have a conversation with her anyway. When faced with the opportunity to sell points (or not), the guides sometimes find loopholes in the rules to help you.

Thanks rocketriter I will speak to her.

You will have to close on the OKW contract before you can buy an add on if it's less than 150 points. You want to anyway so it can be attached to your contract. But go ahead and speak to the guide to be ready to hit the ground running.

BTW, Wisbucky, Myra is our guide too, and I long to have my old guide back! She is NOT good at returning calls or getting information sent. I have tried numerous times to get her to send stuff to folks who want to buy, and she never gets around to it!

I wonder if I could get a different guide if I strongly requested one. This is frustrating since the beginning of this year I have called her 5 times and have either been told she is gone, on leave, not in the office, or currently busy. I have never been put through to her directly. The one time she did call back was 4 or 5 days later and she said she was so busy she just couldnt get back to us. I am not buying these excuses with her anymore.

You can switch guides if you want. Just call and talk to a supervisor and tell them you want to switch and why. I have done it once but for different reasons. Over the years our guides have come and gone. We just get assigned a new one. I like to go in and sit down with them and mine moved to VB so I switched. As it turns out, she was the best we ever had but being at VB didn't fulfill my needs.

BTW. a call to a supervisor should help with your problem even without changing guides. Still, I'm sure you won't be able to do much until you have closed and DVC has you in the system. You will not have to wait until you get the original deed back though which will take an extra month or more. Once you've actually closed, call DVC about 3-5 working days later and see if you're in the system. If you get your guide moving, they could be looking as well and have the paperwork ready. You may be able to even lock in the price if there's an increase.
