How do I prove my child's age?

I wouldn't worry, when we went my youngest child was one month from turning three. We were worried, but not once did anyone even ask, or give her a second look.

My nephew was also tall for his age. To throw us off, CM asked my S-I-L what year my nephew was born and was expecting quick answer.

We went a week before my daughter turned 3, and she is also very tall. I brought her birth certificate just in case but we were never questioned.

The cell phone photo is not good enough to get a government id.

But it tends to convince opposing coaches/parents in youth soccer, and I am guessing, WDW CM's.

The point is still moot in non-government uses.
If I was trying to "prove" a higher or lower age for anyone, I could manipulate the birth certificate "copy"
electronic or otherwise.
It simply does not matter one way or the other.

WDW CM's don't ask for a birth certificate or other proof of age.

My favorite age story from the parks is when we did a Disney Youth Education class with our son. (The class was for 5 year olds - 3rd graders.) The teacher went around the group asking the kids their names, age, and favorite Disney character. There were two brothers in the class. When she got to the younger one he shared his name and then said "Normally I'm 4 but today I'm 5." :rotfl2:The dad's face turned bright red, the teacher just smiled, and continued around the circle. Love the honesty of kids!

Trivia for the day:

The child who was the subject of this thread is almost 10 now and is a month or two from being a Disney Adult!

FWIW, the age of the thread was already noted by BudgieMama, and a moderator already stated it's fine, after it was resurrected on Sunday.

This is a zombie thread, but we're going to keep it open as the question does come up from time to time.

??? I am missing your point. My post was not a criticism of resurrecting the thread. It was an observation. Do I need a moderator's permission (or yours) to make an observation?

I have been to both WDW and DL with children that were almost 3 (2 yrs 11 months) and have never been asked, ever, what their age was. We are taking our youngest this Sept, who will also be 2 yrs 11 months- he is smaller than my other kids were at that age, but I still don't anticipate an issue at all.

You guys? Resurrecting an old [open] thread is not against our site's guidelines. I can't seem to figure out why so many posters get so annoyed when this happens. It's really not a big deal. We have many new posters joining us every day and these topics might be new to them. If you see that a zombie thread has been resurrected and that makes you mad, well, just keep it moving. There are plenty of new threads too! No need to get sassy with each other about it because the posts, old or new, are still subject to the guidelines.

:thanks:

Thanks guys - I always feel better being prepared...especially considering the fact that my DD has been on a weird kick lately where she tells people she's 8years old - or 30...

You should have seen the look this one little old lady gave, when she asked my DD how hold she was, and my DD replied by saying she was 8...too funny...
:rotfl:

Thanks again!!

So how'd things work out?

Apparently, you do. ;)

The reason so many times a Zombie Thread is a problem is that the earlier posts often present outdated and/or incorrect info. Since the FIRST couple of posts are the ones that many here read (and seldom delve any deeper)
that ghost info comes back to haunt (misinform) those reading it... all over again.

An obvious example would be reactivating a thread with a title (and info) like
"Rivers of Light opening Soon!" and the OP extolling that it will be a go on April 22.

In a thread like the one we are reading right now, the info has not changed since the thread was new, so it doesn't matter.

Don't disagree. People should not get chastised for pointing out the age of the thread for the reasons stated by Robo. Old threads by definition contain old information and it can't hurt for that fact to be pointed out.

Agreed as well. It's ALL in the way it's pointed out. :flower1: #attitudeiseverything

Why is that? Is there an age minimum for Jedi Training?

Yes.
It is specifically for Ages 4-12.
