I want to be able to check in at our resort and therefore I must have prepaid my luggage. We are using AirTran, and they said that I need to do it at the airport. Can someone please tell me how I can do this so I can check it at our resort.

Thanks.

I assume you mean using BAGS check in at the resort when you are leaving? At OKW, near the phone thay had a notice giving you a toll free # to call so you pay by credit card in advance. We did it one day before we left.
They give you a confirmation # which you then give to BAGS when you are checking your luggage at the resort.

Yes, is this not something I can do sooner before we leave?

You can only pay before you leave for the trip to Orlando and then must go through BAGS to pay before you check-out. We did this in Aug. and it is so easy. Check to see if Air-Tran lets you pay for your luggage on-line. Delta let us do it when we printed our boarding passes 24 hours before our trip. Also, check to see, some of the airlines are charging more to pay for luggage at the airport than doing it on-line. Using BAGs at the resorts is so easy. As the pp said, you call the number (free on Disney phones) the day before you check out. Just have your flight info (or confirmation no.), credit card, and pen/paper handy. Just follow the reps instructions, write down the confirmation number and then take it the day you check-out to the airline desk at the resort and they do the rest. They will check the confirmation number, take your bags and print boarding passes for you.

What is the number for BAGS?

It will be on the letter you get on/under your door the day before you depart. The letter also tells you what time your DME pickup is, and that you need to be waiting at the bus stop with your entire party and any carry-on luggage fifteen minutes prior to that time. It's when the bus leaves your resort, not when it arrives.

Sorry to hijack, but I too am interested in figuring out how to prepay luggage. I read somewhere on here that it has to be done less than 24 hours before a flight, but then saw that it has to be payed at least 24 hours before a flight. Does anyone know which it is? :confused3
Thanks!

They will leave a letter under your door the day before you leave, that tells you all the specifics including the time period you must pay your baggage fees, as well as the phone number to call.

It was very easy....I called the number on the note I got the day before checkout. I gave them my flight info and credit card info. They gave me a confirmation number, which I had to show the CM at the RAC counter the next day.
I don't like to leave it too late, so usually call the day before I checkout. I haven't had an issue with that.

You do not have to prepay more than 24 hours in advance. Disney's website says you have to pay before using the Resort Airline Check-In. The letter you get in your room the day before departure will have the information. That being said, I would recommend doing it as early as possible. I called on the day of check-out and was on hold about 10-15 minutes. Not a big deal, but if you're running late it could cause you problems.
