how do I post pictures on the boards? please help

Hi

I am wanting to post some of my pictures on the site but do not really understand how to do it, tried to attach photos but then got completely lost, (pretty technically inept) I would be so grateful if someone could help me out, in very plain, easy instructions.

First, welcome to the DIS.

Second, you need a few more posts, they don't let you post images/links with fewer than 10 posts. Easiest way to rack up some quick post count is to do a few happy's on the birthday board here....http://www.disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=57 When over 10 posts, you can then do images/links.

Easiest is to set up a free account at www.photobucket.com. Follow the steps there to upload. Once uploaded, go below the picture/s you want to post here, copy the img code line (all of it) and paste here. That should do it.

I host my photos at smugmug and the direct link (shortcut) does not work unless I add

to the end of the url, no spaces

I think some photo sites add these automaticaly. Otherwise add the yourself. You can also preview your post before submitting. Choose "go advanced" under the reply window to get the preview option.

THere is also a practice thread somewhere here that is for... practicing! But there are so many forums here I lost track of where it is. The preview option prety much eliminates the need for post testing.
