How do I order my AP magicband and AP slider?

I have read on the boards of people "ordering" their AP band, and the AP slider coming with it.
How do I order one?
I already have an active AP linked to my MDE account, which is good until next May 26. I don't see anywhere to order the AP band. I already have a magicband from DVC reservation, so don't need one. (Could be fun to get in all colors, but not important.) I do really want the AP slider though. Silly, isn't it?

My understanding is that you get the AP band and slider if you have a active AP in your MDE account. We just received ours followed by a second set of bands for our room reservation.

Ours just showed up w/ the sliders. I did not intentionally order them. The box says PASSHOLDER on the side. We have yet to receive our bands for the room reservations, however.

I have an active AP in my MDE account, as stated in my original post. It has been active for 3 months and was linked to my account before I activated it. So just having an active AP linked to MDE does not seem to be enough.

Yes, I remember other people posting similar experiences when they first started sending them out, but I had not activated my AP yet then (though it was linked to my MDE account then), so I thought when I activated it I would get a chance to order one.
Anyone have any ideas?

I received a separate email to customize AP magic bands a few weeks after I had activated the passes on a DVC trip. The AP bands arrived a couple weeks after I customized them.

If you have a current active AP and haven't received your bands yet, go into MDE and enter the "customize magic bands" part of the app, and you should find you are able to do it immediately.

I don't believe you can customize and order the bands before you activate the passes at the park for the first time- although this may have changed in the last six months...

Since an AP that hasn't been used ("activated") is refundable, I expect Disney doesn't want to go to the expense of preparing and sending the bands, until you're active on using the pass that you have purchased. At that point, they have your money secured. Mickey always gets his cheese.

Our new DVC APs are in our account but not activated. When I logged into DME
there was a link to customize our MBs. They arrived this week along with the discount card. However, we have made 4 trips with Magic Bands and have never gotten DVC MBs. I am greedy--I want them! How do you get them?

There is no such thing as a "DVC magic band."

There are some little plastic sliders that say "DVC member" that (sometimes but not always) are included in the box of bands when you are staying on points.

If they aren't in the box of bands for your next stay, you can usually get a set at resort check-in.
