How Do I Navigate Grocery Delivery to the DHL? Which Service is Best?

I apologize if this has been outlined elsewhere on the Disboards; I have reviewed DL threads and found some information, but I still have some questions. I have had groceries delivered by WeGoShop at WDW a few years ago and had good experiences, but I'm at a loss for how to navigate grocery delivery at the Disneyland Hotel. I have read the threads and saw someone mention Vons, and I'm not sure what that is? I also saw someone mention cheaper prices and better results with Amazon Prime Now? Are there other services I should consider?

Any information anyone has about the best way to go with grocery delivery would be so amazing. Because we are flying in to the SNA airport and ubering to our hotel, I would like to have basics like water bottles, breakfast stuff, and snacks delivered to the Disneyland Hotel. What address should I provide for delivery to the DLH?

In advance, thank you so much!

Vons is a grocery store chain in SoCal (same as Safeway). I believe they have free delivery with a $49 order.

A few years ago we used Amazon Prime Now for delivery to the PPH. It was easy peasy. They let you chose a 2hr deliver window and sent a text when it was on the way. The bellman brought the groceries to our room but they would have held them for us if we had not been in.

The physical address for DLH is: 1150 West Magic Way, Anaheim, CA 92802.

Thank you @Angrose ! We are Amazon Prime members...does that mean there is no delivery charge, or are there other fees or charges involved with an Amazon Prime Now order? Can I place an order in advance for delivery in August, or do I need to wait to order when we are traveling to the DLH?

We have used Vons(Safeway) with out any problems. Use the hotel address(make sure they will accept) and if you have booze you will have to be there for delivery, the main thing is will they accept the grocery's. Big thread on Dis about this very thing.

We used Vons for our spring break trip. Free delivery and the order was on time, early actually.

I just typed in Vons, and it popped up. We are using them again in July for the family trip for the basics.

I can't remember if there was a delivery charge for Prime Now. I did get a $10 coupon since it was my first time using the service, so that helped offset any fees. Yes, you can place an order in advance, but I wouldn't do it more than a week or so ahead of time. You could go in there now and browse around and put stuff in your shopping cart so you know what they have.

I am always a fan of just arriving, getting settled in then taking an Uber to the market to stock up.

There's no delivery charge if your order totals $35 or more. I *think* the delivery charge is $5 if your order is under $35.

If you want a 1-hour delivery window instead of the standard 2-hour window, there's a $5 charge. Note this doesn't necessarily mean you will receive your order 1 hour after you place it; it means you choose from various 1 hour windows during which your order will be delivered. If you go with the standard 2-hour delivery window you will select an available 2-hour slot when placing your order.

You can only place your order the day before or the day of delivery. But you can fill your cart via the Prime Now app or the website (primenow.amazon.com) as far in advance as you want. I usually start my order once my travel plans are made and then I add items as I remember them. Items will periodically go out of stock, so it's a good idea to re-check your order a few days to a week before your trip.

Instacart has a bunch of stores to choose from. The fee is around $9.99, but there are tons of coupons floating around for $10 off first order. I have a cart full of stuff from Albertson's that I will hit "order" on when we arrive next week!

we have always used Vons with no problems. If they are out of stock of an exact item you've ordered they will auto substitute for something extremely similar, you can opt of of that option too

Entering the zip for our hotel (Best Western Plus Anaheim Inn), we get transferred from Vons to Pavillions. I don't know the current difference, but a google search seems to say Pavillions is slightly more upscale.
I still have plenty of time before my trip, so will be research Instacart vs Pavillions vs Amazon Prime.
Not currently a Prime member, but if I recall correctly, I can do a 30 day free trial.

Safeway/Vons/Pavillions is quick, easy, inexpensive and you can usually get a free delivery with enough spent. We use them always when we travel and occasionally at home, never had a problem once.

This was my issue too - we are staying at Grand Cali.

I’m assuming since it’s the same parent company it doesn’t really make a difference. Am I right?

Question for all you grocery experts:
1) how far in advance do you order?
2) what delivery window do you pick? Or does this even matter?

Thanks!

Yeah, no difference. That’s just the store that happens to deliver to you. For delivery it makes no difference, if you go inside one you’ll see lots more options like a sushi bar, big deli, extra floral, etc.

I fill my cart maybe a couple weeks ahead, editing it as I think of things. I select a time that is right before we arrive so the groceries are waiting for me. If you order alcohol you’ll have to be there so don’t do that. Two days before our trip I double check to see if anything is out of stock and make any adjustments.
