How do I make my son grow 2 inches

I think if you make it a big deal that your kid is too short to ride something their sibling can ride on then they will be upset. If the issue is delt with in a matter of fact sort of way - "we'll go on _______ while Dad and second kid go _______ then we'll meet up for ice cream together"

It is just a life lesson - a very easy one at that..."sometimes you can't do everything everyone else does...." AND "ice cream (insert any other candy pay off treat here) is better enjoyed with EVERYONE in the family.

When his perfect dad and all knowing sister gave the ride their approval he just about melted into a puddle of frustration/sadness/anger/unfairness:headache:. He has very rarely had a melt down in public, but that day we were "that family." He took it so hard.

DD was disappointed at some other rides, but Soarin' was the only one that caused big problems... and it was for the same reason (except it was Grandma who made the "don't know why you can't" comment. "Because those are the *rules,* Grandma.")

We went to the pediatrician on Wednesday for DD's 5 year well-check. Her height measurement came in at 42". She jumped up and down and shrieked "Now I can go on all the rides at Walt Disney World!!!!" The nurse laughed and said she'd never seen anyone get so excited about 42".

Time to start planning our next trip. (BTW -- I know there are still a few rides with height requirements greater than 42"...but I think DD would be okay with missing those.)

I just put my 1 year old daughter in those sexy, clear, platform plus 8 inch heal, dancer pumps and she gets right on the rides. No one gives it a second glance when she where them. Now my son on the other hand, he got a few stares. :rotfl2:

Make sure to give her the 1960s big hair with lots of ratting to go with it.

Do the heels have the live goldfish in them?, those are the best - and a big hit with kids.

You should have just told everyone your son was Prince.;):rotfl2:

nope no gold fish but they do light up do they serve double duty as glow sticks for the parade

my tip, buy a pair of sneakers with high soles, spiderman ones worked for my son , we then added some cut up adult shoe insoles to the inside heals , just before we qued up for spiderman ride and it worked :dance3:

You could also wear a long trenchcoat. Put the child on your shoulders and then button it up over your head. You'll be about 7 feet tall and can go on any ride. Works like a charm!;)

Ah yes, the height issues. Well, our family has overcome these issues at parks all over the country with a simple little trick that I will now share with you. It isn't expensive at all...you just need to buy your boys these shoes:

And your daughters these shoes:

My 6, 3 and 1 yr olds get lots of stares and attention, but usually by the time the ride operators regain their ability to speak (because they think our shoes are the shizzle) we are already boarded on and ready to go.

Works like a charm!
