How do I make more specific requests...

other than the drop-down boxes for the on-line check-in. For example, we have our first DVC stay in a couple of weeks at OKW. I see that others have requested specific buildings. How would I go about doing this if I wanted to?
 
Contact Member Services either by phone, email (contact us on member website) or the chat feature on member website.
 
And have realistic expectations. Requests are just that - requests. In our experience, they are almost never met (but we stay at the BW, which seems to be the worst at meeting them). With DVC operating at such high occupancy, the more general you are in your request, the better the chance that a room of that type will be opening up the day you check in.

Yes - I almost added that I *know* requests are only that. :D I just wondered what the process/mechanism was to make one.

DVC is much worse than the cash side because of the higher occupancy rates - and possibly the fact that they don't NEED to be great in order to get repeat business since we are captive - but really I think more due to the high occupancy rates that makes filling room requests a game of Tetris.
 
The problem with "specific" buildings is they have NO idea why you wanted that. So when it's not available they just stick you anywhere.

Not just buildings but any specific request. You may like the water/golf course view from room 2600 so you ask for 2600. The room assigner can't give you 2600 but assigns 2601 which is opposite your requested room with a great parking lot view!

I usually use the email option on the DVC member page or the chat feature on the DVC member site. I prefer the email and I usually send it in about two weeks before check in.
