How do I love thee....let me count the days!! It's done.......

Congrats on the addition to your family! She is cute!

It's just the 4 of us this year. We let Grumpy decide what to do about Christmas dinner. He chose the Rainforest Cafe of all places. I'll make dinner Christmas Eve. It's tradition in our family to open one gift on Christmas Eve.

Oh thank you. I decided we needed her after we had to put down our 13 year old German Shepherd last weekend. Everyone was heart broken, I am glad I decided to get her. She has greatly improved the moods in the house.

Here she is in her new jacket. It was 24 degrees this morning I gave in and got her a little jacket.

How funny he picked the Rain Forest, it is a festive and fun choice. We started with the Christmas Eve opening because we used to go to my in laws on Christmas Day. I got used to Christmas Eve, Christmas Day we play games, bake and such now. This year I am making a big meal which I don't normally do.

Well, WBG has to work both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day we aren't going to do much.:sad1: We will have lasagna tomorrow night which is a tradition and on Christmas Day I am making ham, turkey, sweet potatoes, corn casserole, mashed potatoes with cheese with cookies for dessert.

We always open our presents from the family on Christmas Eve and sleep in on Christmas Day.

What plans do you have?

aw...that stinks

This is the first year in like 3 years that Steve has off both Christmas Eve and Christmas :goodvibes

Sleeping in on Christmas sounds great :santa:

You know what really ticks me off is the fact that the plant is closing December 26 - January 1. Now he will be paid for 12/31 & 1/1 plus his double time and a half for this weekend makes him not lose anytime. He will come out ahead, but it just really ticks me off.

Sorry to hear about your german shepherd.

How big will the new dog get? Same size as a german shepherd?

It's been years since we ate at the Rain Forrest.

I guess as long as Santa still comes to our house while we sleep on Christmas Eve, then we can't open presents 'til after they get here ;)

I know Anakin will be heart broken to learn that Santa isn't who he thought he was. Another mother gave me the advice to say there was a Santa who was human and he asked mommies and daddies to carry on his tradition of giving.

That sucks :sad2: I'm planning on going out to dinner and heading to church. Then on christmas, I'm going to have family over at my house.

Thank you. Shelby was a wonderful dog. Annabel will get to about 60 pounds. She is a medium dog. We plan on getting a second dog next year.

When our kids were little I would only let them ask Santa for one gift and the rest were from dad and I. Part of that was because we didn't have a lot of money and part of that was because I was selfish and I didn't want Santa to get all of the credit for the best gifts.

I love the idea of telling Anakin that. It makes it better and it will be easier to understand.

It does suck but he is off all next week, so we will have time with him then.

Sounds like you have some great plans!!

That's actually pretty similar to what we do. Whatever fits in the stocking is from Santa. The rest is from us. He thinks he is getting a $199 race track from Bass Pro. He told the Santa there that's what he wants. He has told us numerous times that it's ok if we don't buy it, he's getting it from Santa.

We have never told him that Santa is real. In fact, the first time he asked we told him we are Santa, I am the toothfairy, and Daddy the Easter bunny. He got furious and said we were lying.

Well, kids get strange ideas. When our daughter Kody was little she told us she wanted to be a fairy when she grew up. WBG's reaction was to tell her it wasn't possible, mine went the other way. My feelings were that I was the tooth fairy and undoubtedly if she has children she can be their tooth fairy.

I love race tracks, and train sets. When my nephew was much younger before we had kids WBG and I made Ryan a train set. Complete with a tunnel and a village. It was so much fun to make. He loved it. The beauty of it was it could be hung on the wall when he wasn't playing with it.

I think that if Anakin can still believe he is lucky. I had a sister that was about five years older than me. I am not sure but I stopped believing at about 5 years old so I think she told me. I let my kids believe as long as they wanted because I felt like I had missed out on some good innocent times.

What did your kids get?

Well, Kody got Big Time Rush tickets, a Big Time Rush t-shirt, Big Time Rush posters, a Big Time Rush cd and a Panic! at the Disco jacket.

Loren got 4 video games and to share the Xbox 360 Kinect with me.

Kacy got concert tickets, boots, make up brushes and lots of make up.

Those things were from their dad and I. They also got things from their grandma's.

Trip news!!

I made our reservations for our rental car today!! We are reserved to have a Dodge Avenger. I got a good deal through Costco so I am thrilled.
