We had an amazing trip!! I concentrated on characters this trip. What a blast!!

I am so glad I am not the only one that family think I am nuts for wearing DL head attire. They draw the line at letting me wear it to town-- Those bouncie ears are the best . So glad I can look forward to getting some new fancy ones this Oct. I think I am going to torment the family for a few weeks --- Oh the fun I shall have.

Another trip planned while you are on a trip? Does it get much better then that? I beg to say NO. You know I am planning my adoption into various families that visit DL -- You have now moved into the group.

Looking forward to the TR. Remeber no house cleaning, no laundry, no outside activities while you are writting you TR. You can make food if the kids get a little roudie.

Anyway sorry it is over -- but glad another trip will be planned.

Michele, I just read on Judy's TR that the meet between you and Lisa didn't get to happen last night. I'm so sorry to hear that. I know you were both looking forward to it. I hope his back is doing better and that he is up to the drive back home.

Oh thank you. My major concern was to get him well enough to drive and then be better for work tomorrow. I was really disappointed to not meet Lisa. Hopefully we'll get another chance sometime.

Well, today it became official! We will be having a trip back in November. Scotty and I upgraded our park hoppers to AP's today. So there is a family vacation happening November. So very excited!!

They have all these really cute new Minnie ear headbands and these are some cute ones.

I was told by cast members that they just got the new ones in last week. I am going to post pictures of all of them once I get home.

They must have put them out just after we left, as I didn't see any of those.


Though I fell for these slightly puffy, bright pink sequiny ear headbands, with a Minnie bow between them. Alas, they seemed to only make them in KID size, which was just too tight for me! (I'm sensitive to tight headbands to begin with, so just dealing with the squeeze wasn't going to happen). But those are absolutely adorable!!!!

I love that boat. When Kody saw that picture the first thing she said was how much she wanted the Mickey. E has good taste.

So it begins......


I went to the car rental place and I was not thrilled with the car we got. He "upgraded" us to a Hyundai Santa Fe. If I had wanted a gas hog I would have reserved one. The reason he upgraded us was because he did not have what we were promised. Next trip I will not rent from that company. I was really ticked about this.

Finally in the much disliked rental vehicle and leaving!!

WBG loves using the GPS, me not so much. I know where we are going, and I don't need it until Anaheim if we are staying somewhere new. But I understand that he is driving and it makes him feel more confidant. He should know how we get there but he starts to follow the out of the way direction that it is sending us. Hence we start out on I-80.

I finally convinced him that we didn't want to go that way, that we wanted to go the way we always have gone. Geez you would think we had never gone before.

Right highway now!!

Cones are not a sign I want to see. I don't want to deal with road work on a two lane highway.

Very popular electricity crop we have here.

And we are meeting up with our very first traffic jam. They were trimming trees that were at the beginning on the bridge.

Oh the exciting sights I got to see while waiting in the traffic jam. Plus I know how much Kelly likes McDonalds!!

Finally we were on the bridge and moving.

Beautiful highway 12 on our way to I-5.

Second bridge.

And our third bridge. Will we ever even make it to I-5? Will these clouds ever bring the rain they are threatening? Stay tuned to this and more exciting things to come.

I was going to size them down like I did that first picture but I think I will stay at the other size. I don't enjoy them as much at the smaller size.


It was Budget, to top off getting an SUV instead of a midsize car it was uncomfortable. Scotty feels almost as bad with his back as he did when he first started seeing his Chiropractor. So that isn't so great.

No, they're all showing about 2x3......they're fine.....I just like the bigger ones.....I haven't had a new pair of glasses in about 4 yrs.

I would definitely complain......when you reserve & it LETS you reserve a certain style of vehicle......they should have had one there for you. I would tell them because of your hubby's back issues, you knew the one style of car would be ok.....but now, he might need to go back to a chiropractor. If nothing else, you might get a free rental for your Nov. trip with them. You never know......but they need to be aware of your unhappiness. I'm not sure what their fine print says about reserving.......but if you reserved a specific vehicle......it should have been there for you. Good luck & report back on this!!

I reserved a midsize car partly for the gas mileage. We ended up using more gas than we would if we had driven our van. We left with a full tank, filled up in Kettleman City, then filled up in Anaheim and then had to fill it up again. With our van we leave with a full tank, fill up in Buttonwillow on the way down, Buttonwillow on the way home and that is it. So we had an extra tank of gas in there. Not happy at all.

I am sure his back will snap back but it worried me a lot that our trip was ruined.

Not getting the car you reserved is uncalled for -- I undrstand someone might have kept longer or that moving cars around there was a mistake but Budget should have made sure you were ok with the changes. I totally agree some car seats are easier on the back then others. You should have been able to pick a car that was on the lot -- not have them do the picking. A luxe car may have even gotten better MPG then the SUV. I have a GF that owns a Santa Fe-- she says it is not that great on MPG but she lives high in the hills so snow is always an issue in winter and the SUV is a must.

You do need to let Corp. know what happened and that you had reservations for a long time. I wonder if calling night before would have given them a heads up that you really wanted the car you rented.

I forgot you have to travel across to hit I-5. I live maybe 1 mile from an on ramp to I-5 -- forgot at tiems how lucky I am.

I love the TR start. Looking forward to pictures and events.

There's a whole thread on the transportation forum right now about what if they don't have the car they've reserved, and it seems to be quite common. I think that they normally expect a renter will be happier with a bigger car, but obviously you guys are proof that it's not always that way!
