How do I know which magic bands go with each reservation?

So I just recieved all 3 sets of our magic bands as we have three different hotel reservations. But now I don't remember which band goes with which reservation. I tried going on the website to see if I can match any of the reservations numbers up but no luck. Is there a way I can do that? Can Guest Services help me when I check in? I also read on MDE that the bands can be used interchangeably. Does that mean I can use just one band my entire trip and it will work for all resorts and all parks? Do I need to do anything special?

all u need is one. The bands are just a key. A key to accessing ur I do which resides on the severs for the whole system. If the one u take doesn't work for some reason u go to the front desk or guest services and they make sure the id is active for the system to see.

You can use the MB interchangeably. They all link to your Disney account, where all info about hotels, tickets, etc. is stored.

Doesn't matter, you can use any or all of them, provided you have not deactivated them on your MDX. Make sure you use all the bands you intend to use on your trip to open your resort door right away, that goes for everybody that should have access to your room.

Not sure if they all work for everything. Just back from a trip last week and here is what we experienced:

First, went to pick up mugs on DDP and had an issue so they suggested checking at the front desk. They told me which ones were "active" and which were or our next resort (split stay). The reason the band dd not work for mugs was it was linked to the second part of our stay, which did not incude DDP. When I tested them on the room, DD and I could only use one for our room and DD's friend could use any of hers (she has AP). When we switched resorts, they left the same one "active," so again those were the only ones that worked for the room. Not wanting to take any chances, we used that band for our park admission, as well. On the last day at MK, we had FP+ at BOG. When we checked in, I told them my name and they found our name on the list and sent us inside. When we got inside, they could not find us by scanning my band. So, we had to re-order food (no biggie, it was very quick). But, because the band we were using was originally linked to my first reservation, it did not recognize the FP+, because that was made using the second resort confirmation number.

I would suggest checking at the front desk when you check in to make sure all of them are active. Or, at least have them tell you which one is active and use that for everything, but keep the others handy for DDP and BOG FP+.

Not sure if anyone can help, but I just booked a reservation with DDP and that includes 1 one day tix for each of us. I then loaded old tickets to the contacts in the reservation. Will those tickets automatically be loaded to the band for the reservation or will they be a separate band. Reason I ask is it shows me and my two kids with two bands, but my wife with only one, even though I loaded tix for each of us.

Also, if you have multiple tickets, how does it know which to use first, as we have some non-expiring park hoppers, but the others are one day one park with 14 day exp.

Tickets are not loaded to the band. They are loaded to your My Disney Experience account, which is accessed by the band. If you have multiple tickets, you have to go to guest services to prioritize them. I guess you could also just use the tickets separately from the bands.

Okay so another question. If it shows existing cards other than the new reservation are those just old key cards?

We have this same exact question! I'm going to follow this thread! My husband is calling Disney soon to get some feedback. We have three sets currently -- one for APs, and two for our split stay.

All righty. He decided to call tonight. Haha. Our very friendly cast member informed us that it doesn't matter which band to bring - they are all tied to your My Disney Experience, and everything links up to your band through that. He said he has one band himself, and he doesn't even take it out when checking in at hotels; the key just links to his band upon checking in!

He said some people order bands of multiple colors, and then match their bands to their outfits. We don't care that much, so we'll just bring one set with us next month. haha. He said if we forget our bands, even though we have multiple at home, then they'll give us new ones when we check in.

When you login to MDE, you will see all active bands in your Magic Band section. I have 5 magic bands and have deactivated 2 of them. I will take 2 per person for our upcoming trip and leave the extras in the safe. That way, if one gets lost, we can still have a colored one.
