How do I get there from here?

I'm looking to put together a comprehensive spreadsheet of how to use Disney transportation to get from point A to point B.

Some of these are simple - for instance, from AKL to pretty much anywhere, the answer is "bus". Some are more complex - from the Poly to MK, you can monorail, boat, or even walk.

Let's say I want to go from DTD to a Park. The short answer is to bus to a resort, swap busses, and continue on to a park. But which bus is the most efficient? Obviously, DTD to AKL is the quickest way to get to AK, but if I was wanting to get to Epcot, it would cost me a lot of time.

And so on, and so forth. I figured this information would be easy to find, but multiple searches on the Dis have given only small pieces of the picture. Likewise, Google is my friend - to a point.

I wonder if anyone can provide some assistance, here? I think that it would be really useful to have a chart that has all locations along the side and the top - then just scroll over and see your options.

Thanks in advance for the help!

You can't walk from POLY to the MK.

There is a "wizard" which has bad information. Just post any route and someone will give you some ideas. I"ll get you started.

DTD--MK Bus to the Contemporary and walk.
DTD-DHS Bus to Boardwalk then walk (or boat)
DTD--EPCOT Bus to BC then walk (or boat).

Alternately walk (or bus) to SSR then take a bus directly to a park.

Wilderness Lodge - Boat/Bus to MK
Contemporary - Monorail/Walk to MK
Fort Wilderness - Boat/Bus to MK
Boardwalk, Beach Club, Yacht Club, Swan, Dolphin - Boat/Walk to Epcot or DHS
Saratoga Springs - Boat to DTD
Poly and Grand Floridian - Monorail to MK

Figure a bus to go anywhere else.......but a combination of the above can be used to get place as well. Like Boat to Epcot then hop on the monorail to MK.

Thanks for the replies. I actually did not get that info from the wizard (I believe I know the one you mean) - that actually came from one of the guide sites. WDWinfo? Mousesavers? I can't recall.

Unless things have changed(and lets face it with Disney that is possible) there is no direct bus from FW to MK, you would have to take the internal Orange Settlement bus to WL and transfer there. The boat is the only direct MK route from FW.

I found this website to point out directions from "A" to "B" http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/transportation/transportation1.cfm

A while back a former bus driver by the name of Truck1 was putting together the same thing and I recall seeing a draft copy of what he was doing in one of his posts. Maybe you can contact him

DTD to park is all going to be in the timing.

It wont 100% be quicker to take a bus from DTD to AKL for a trip to AK. If a bus was just leaving AKL as you got there, and you had to wait, you could be waiting 20 min more of the next bus. if you goto CSR you may get off and then an AK bus pulls up.. So you would get right on and head to the park. Could happen at any resort, I just threw both out as they are both 'in the neighborhood of AK'. If going from DTD to a park via a resort, I usually look for the first bus that's close and then head there, then hope my timing works at that resort..

And taking a bus from DTD to BC/YC/BW would get you close to DHS via the boat, and that one I agree with, and close to the IG of epcot, but if you wanted to be in the front of epcot, you may still want to take a bus to some other resort and head to epcot. Again for IG / world showcase, that makes sense, but may not be as quick for the 'front' of epcot.

That's an excellent tip, dburg30, and one I had not thought of. Here I was planning to use the "closest" stop for figuring on the connection times, but really, one would need to use their head. I'll include that in what I'm doing.

Thanks!

LOL, just dont get silly :).. Dont goto CR to head to AK :) Just look at a world wide map and pick a close one :) then hope for the bus Gods to shine on you :lmao:
