How do I get picked....

for the fastest finger seat at the beginning of WWTBAM? I know that you gradually raise your score during the game, but how can I get picked to start out there? Don't tell me it's random, I don't believe it!

I would send a PM to Zurgswife - every member of her family has been in the hot seat - she has been in 3 times and her DH (Zurg) has been in 8 - maybe if you do a search on her she might have some clues already posted!

On our June trip, we did WWTBAM and this is how it went for us. Everyone is seated on a first come basis, so those in line first will be seated in the first row seats (on the stage floor where contestants are chosen from on the TV version of the game.) After all those entering the attraction are seated, they went over some rules and such prior to beginning the "taping". Once the host came out and the game actually started, the first question was placed on the screen and you punched in your answer...the one with the correct answer and the fastest time was chosen to sit in the hot seat. As that person answered questions those in every seat of the audience answered along and the top 10 scores were shown periodically. When that individual answered all and won, or answered incorrectly and was removed from the hot seat, the person who then had the most correct answers AND was the fastest time became the next contestant in the hot seat. While we were there, we actually had 2 people make it to the hot seat and I assume this is the norm for the time period in which they play the game before ending.

Actually, none of us made it to the hot seat, but DH made it to the #8 spot on the top ten list during the first game and I made it to the #5 spot during the second game. We had a blast and plan to go back a few times on our Christmas trip.

My DH and I were chosen to sit in the fast finger seats (not the hot seat - although I was number one on the leader board when the game ended!) on the day after Hurricane Jeanne, 2004. When we were entering the attraction, a cast member called us over to the side and asked us if we wanted to sit in the prime seats. I am pretty sure we were picked because we were wearing the bride and groom ears, and appeared to be amdly in love

I have made it to the Hot Seat several times (though have never gone all the way - did make it to 500,000 once! I do have quite a collection of pins, hats and shirts though) and have only once gotten in with the "fastest finger question". That is sometimes luck as much as anything, because you have to be so fast and correct (folks have gotten the correct order by quessing).

Our family got to sit in the fastest finger seats for one of the "shows". We simply asked the CM at the door if they had selected anybody for the next show and told her we would like to do it. We also had fast passes for the next show. I'm not sure they have fast pass for Millionaire anymore, but arrive about 20 minutes before the show you are wanting to attend and ask.

totally random. we've been picked to sit in the fastest finger rows when there have already been people waiting.

we've been picked twice - however on the second time I said "yes we've done it before"...DH was ticked at me...but hey - give someone else a chance - right? The rest of our family with us was allowed to sit in the seats though...we sat right behind them.

I have been in the Hot Seat twice, but never based on Fastest Finger. When I first did WWTBAM the fastest time was about 5 seconds. Over the years people have begun just entering random combinations and getting it right. The odds are 1 in 24 that you can get it right, so have a predetermined order that you will press the buttons and go for it. When we were there in December the Fastest finger time was less than a second, so that tells me someone completely guessed.

The key is to answer the questions right after the person made it. They will choose the next contestant based on the rankings. Hopefully then you will make it to the Hotseat.

I made it to 250,000 and 500,000 before missing questions that my DW knew the answers. Where was she when I needed "not a complete stranger"

i don't know but i want to cuz i have been going and going and never get in the hot seat but my dad almost got picked as the tourist walking around and gets thrown the phone at my dad was right there watching the poor dude just look at the phone the cm gave him and had to answer the question he said it was funny to watch lol

Do you mean you want to sit in one of the seats that are the contestant seats on a real WWTBAM show? Those are seated by a CM, and as some people above mentioned, it can be random or you may be able to ask for it.

Now, to win the fastest fingers contest to get the first contestant, people usually just push buttons as fast as they can at random.

I find it much easier to get into the Hot Seat as the second or third contestant than try to get lucky on fastest fingers.

To be in the hotseat, put your fingers on the buttons when they begin to read the question. As soon as you hear the correct answer, starting pressing that button. Don't wait until all the possibles are given.

I would have been in the hotseat the last time I played, but we ran out of time. They used to carry people over to the next game. They don't do that any more.

Last month when we were there our friend got picked to be in the hot seat. It was so much fun! Anyway, he completely guessed and was shocked when he did get called down. The day before my DH and I overheard a CM telling people that the easiest way to be the first one in the hotseat is to guess. He said pick a combo and keep playing it until you get picked. This makes sense to me because it seems that most of the times when I am there the people who get picked are frequent visitors to millionaire.

From my experience with the show, I would suggest to slow down and think about the fastest finger question and try and get it right rather then going fast and missing it. Of course by being slow, you won't get the first seat, but by getting the question right when so many others get it wrong will put you ahead for the next seating. As long as you are very fast and correct with the other questions! DF has been to the hot seat many times by using that method. I think this this is one of my favorite things to do at MGM.. Last year, our then 3 1/2 year old DS was #2 for the fastest finger question!!!!!!!

Obviously, he just liked pushing the buttons and did it pretty darn fast

It was really cool for us and the people around us. They "pause" after putting the results up from #10 to #2, so there was time for those around us to see it was him as #2. (they post your seat number)

Although, I have to say if he was picked, there was NO WAY he was going to go up there!!! But, it was fun, none the less.

Everyone in the audience plays the fastest finger question, not just those in the front row. Where you sit in the audience has no bearing on your chance of getting in the hot seat. It is all "skill", or "luck".
