How do I get grease stains off my corian counter backsplash?

My mother-in-law wonderfully takes over my kitchen when she comes to visit, and does all the cooking until she leaves.

She says it's because she has to cook the "right" foods for her husband..........I am the first to admit I don't cook the "real" Mexican food, so I have no problem with that, and it's nice to come home to dinner on the table.

However, she got grease spots all over the backsplash behind the stove. I have scrubbed it daily, and can't get rid of them. Can someone tell me an easily found product that will take care of this?

If you can find Mean Green it is wonderful on grease. I buy it from Wal Mart and the Dollar Store. It is a white spray bottle with orange & green writing on it.

Would Comet scratch up Corian? I use it on my counters, but I don't have Corian. If so, them maybe 409 All Purpose? Look also at Goo Gone and maybe try that in an inconspicuous area. Goo Gone will work, but I would hate you damaging your counters at my suggestion.

I would suggest calling the manufacturer. I am not familiar with corian but they should be able to suggest something that won't damage the finish. If you get the grease off, which I am sure you will. Ask about a sealer that will protect it better than just the finish.

I could be wrong, but I thought when Corian first came out one of the selling features was that you could use fine sandpaper to remove stains, scratches, dings, etc. I don't know if that's true or not, but I would contact the manufacturer (is it DuPont?) and ask. Good luck.
