How do I get from YC to front/main gate at Epcot?

We will be staying at YC. I know that you can enter through the WS entrance. But I've also heard that if you do and you're there are rope drop, by the time you can get to Test Track, loads of people from the main gate will have beaten you there.

Is there a way to walk from YC to the Epcot main gate? About how long a walk is it?

The only way to walk from YC to the Epcot maingate is to enter through World Showcase and walk through the park. It's way too long a walk -- and there are not sidewalks or walkways over most of it -- from YC to Epcot if you want to enter at the main gate. You'll need to take Disney transportation (bus), or a cab.

Disney Busses don't go to the maingate at Epcot from YC. You will have to take a bus to Transportation center and then to epcot or walk through the international gateway.

- drive
- take a cab
- take a bus to DTD and the get on to to Epcot

I've thought of driving first thing in the morning. Then, driving back when we take our afternoon break. Then walking in after the break, so we can walk out at the end of the evening. But so much for the Epcot Resorts being so convenient to Epcot!

Why not just save your "rope-drop" morning for the day that Epcot is the early entry park? There won't be hordes that morning.

BTW, we did rope-drop at Epcot on a regular day this August. The first hordes all pretty much fit into the rides; after the first rush there was a period of nearly 40 minutes before the lines began to get long again. I know this b/c I didn't want to do MS twice, so I went to get FP for TT while DH & DS rode it again. When they came out, we were able to walk onto TT in the standby line. Then we went on again right away using the FP I had gotten earlier.

There is no bus from YC to the TTC. You would have to take the bus to MK, then ride the monorail to the TTC, then the Epcot monorail. I would just enter through the IG. Unless you are going at a crowded time (i.e. Christmas week), I don't think it will make that much difference in the time to get to TT.

This happned to us this summer while staying at BWI. The kids were jogging along from the rope drop and by the time we got to the front of the park lines were very long. This year we will follow advice of the unofficial guide to disney and take a cab and walk back to the yacht club.I dont think a cab will be to much. I have used them getting around disney before and was never very much.

I don't think this is a very popular solution but I second the

Take a cab !! Even though we use the WDW transportation on our trips there are some times we use a taxi ride , especially when traveling from resort to resort.

If you are that addimate about it....as I am too w/ many things...just pay the 10-15 dollars for the taxi and be done with it. In my opinion , It is worth it after all the $$ and planning you are already spending.......
