How do I get from DHS to DTD?

If there is a thread that already answers this please direct me there and accept my apology. I searched but could not find it.

We are staying offsite and have one vehicle. One group wants to go to either DTD or Typhoon Lagoon and the other party wants to go to Studios. I am driving and thus keeping the car. I can drop them off at Studios in the morning then head over to DTD. How can the other party get to DTD using Disney Transportation?

And also, is there a drop-off location at DHS or would I need to pay to park to just drop them off?

I'm not sure about having to pay to park in order to just drop them off...I would imagine that you would have to pay. What you could do is to drop them off at Boardwalk. They could then walk or take the boat to DHS. When they are done at DHS, they can do one of several things...they can walk or boat, back to BW and take the DTD bus from there. Or, they can take the SSR bus at DHS and then either walk or boat over to DTD from there.

Thanks. I'm thinking we may be better off just parking at the boardwalk. They can (like you said) take the boats to DHS and my party could take the bus to DTD or TL (whichever we go to) from there. Then we all just meet back up at the boardwalk.

Another question. On another day we are going to EPCOT and they are going to MK. I was thinking of parking at EPCOT and them taking the monorail to TTC and then again to MK. Is this the best way? BTW the other group is two adults and my group comprises 5 kids. It would be easier for them to do more transfers than my group.

What do you think?

No, you may not park at the Boardwalk (or any resort you are not staying at) all day while spending most of that time someplace else (such as in a park).

You should not have to pay to drop someone off at a park; if the toll booth CM insists, don't get out any money but ask for directions to a U-turn "because you changed your mind". Then go try to drop them off at a resort to take the bus to the park.

Chances are, you can sneak in a drop off in the process of making the U-turn, more circuitously.

Scenario - we have a large group travelling mostly in a 12 passenger van (staying offsite). There are days where we will split up and I have a lot of questions that only the Dis transportation boarders can help with.

1) One group is going to EPCOT and the other is going to DHS. If we park at EPCOT is there a direct bus to DHS or should we park at TTC where group 1 can monorail to EP and group 2 take bus to TTC?

2) One group is going to DTD and the other is going to MK. Is there a direct bus from DTD to MK for group #2?

3) We are all going to AK but some have to leave at 4 to go to the airport while the other group stays at the park. Obviously they can't use ME since we are staying offsite. How can they store their luggage so they don't have to go back to the room? I suppose they could keep it in the van and one person from group 2 could escort them to the van to retrieve their luggage then they take shuttle or taxi to airport and the escort could then walk back into the park and join back up with their party. Or they could pay extra to drive back to the resort, pick up their luggage, then on to the airport. What do you think? Am I overlooking some simpler solution?

Yes there is a bus. And a boat outside the back entrance, but you need parkhopping tickets to enter both parks in this case.

No direct buses to any parks from DTD. You must go to a resort, for example to Grand Floridian then take monorail to MK.

I would leave in van and retrieve before getting taxi.

Is there a reason why everyone wouldn't be going to the same park on the same days?

1) The previous poster probably had the best plan for this one. Otherwise TTC would be an ok option, but it would take more time. Also, a bus would most likely be faster than the boat.
2) The best option would be to park at the TTC then take a bus to DTD and monorail/ferry to Magic Kingdom. You have to park at the TTC for the Magic Kingdom anyways.
3) Leaving the luggage in the car seems like the best option here.

Magic Kingdom Day.
Drive to Downtown Disney and drop off the group members going there, then drive to the TTC (MK parking lot concourse).

As there are no resort buses to TTC, if you start there then you need to make two connections to get to DTD: TTC to a park, that park to a resort, and that resort to DTD.

1 = Park at DHS. DHS group goes directly into the park; Epcot group turns right before park entrance, boards Friendship Boat, takes boat to Epcot's International Gateway, or walks. Or, takes the bus from DHS to Epcot's front entrance. Or, driver drops one group at non-driver park then drives to the other park, parks, enters.

2 = No transportation between parks and Downtown Disney. Driver drops DTD party there, then drives to MK (unless driver is in the DTD party, in which case driver drops MK party there then drives to DTD).

3 = Yes, leave luggage in van and retrieve.

You may park at Boardwalk if you use the general lot across the street from Boardwalk....next to the Hess Station. most don't want to park there because it is a hike to the parks. But it is an option. Parking in the resort lot is not a good idea. Or you can pay to valet park.

Here is what I decided to do

1 - park at EPCOT. Group with kids goes into EPCOT and group without kids takes Bus from EPCOT to DHS (I didn't know there was a bus going straight from park to park)

2 - Park at DTD. Group with kids are going to DQ. Group without kids take bus or boat to POR or SSR then bus to MK. DTD group will wait for MK group to call and we will either wait for them at DTD or pick them up at SSR or POR.

3 - They bring luggage and leave in van. Park at AK. Everyone is going to AK that day. I might even be nice and drive them to airport (and hopefully the kids will nap during the drive).

4 - Park at TTC. Group with kids is taking monorail to MK. Solo adult wants to do EP so he can take monorail to EP and we meet up at the van that evening.
