How do I get back to Pop after late dinner at WL?

This is my first post on this board, so forgive me if this is a dumb question. But I don't understand how the Disney bus system works:

We're planning on using the buses. After each day's park visit, we have PSs at a resort (WL, Contemporary & Poly) for dinner. When I made my PSs the operator told me the buses stop running 30-45 min after MK closes. (which is 6 or 7 pm??)

:moped: 1) So if we're bus riders, how do we get from another resort back to Pop if it's late??

~ and ~

:moped: 2) Can we take our car to Wilderness Lodge before we go to MK one morning, so it'll be there for us to ride home in after the buses stop running?

Please tell me what to do. Thanks!!

If the MVMCP is scheduled for the night you have PS at Wilderness Lodge you can just catch the bus or boat back over to the Magic Kingdom and catch a bus back to POP. The buses will still be operating for the guest visiting the party.

I don't believe that you will be able to park at Wilderness Lodge for the day as the parking is for registered guest and all other guest have a time limit (If you could even find a parking space due to the Lodge being booked during your visit)

Disney provides resort-to-resort visits via DTD you would catch the bus to downtown Disney then transfer to which ever resort you have PS for. (Very time consuming) You could aways use EPCOT as a transfer spot as it's open later.

But if you have your own car I would think about going back to the Pop and driving your own car to your PS.

Its best if you could go back to your resort to get your car and then go to your PSs.

However, if you take the bus to the resort and after your PS, there is no park open, your options are to take a bus to DTD and then transfer to the PC bus (this will take 60 - 90 minutes) or take a cab ($15 and 15 minutes)

You really should go to the "Transportation" site. Posting there that Disney is experimenting -- starting Sunday, 15 Nov -- with bus service from WL direct to MK. WL/FWL buses will no longer go to TTC. There will be no bus resort service from or to TTC. This could be good news if you are trying to connect in the evening back to MK to pick up bus to Pop. Bus should be a lot faster than the boats from WL to MK -- especially in the evenings when the boats will be running MK-WL-FWL-MK. We're hoping this experiment is one that works!

From WL to Pop, if MK is closed:

Take bus from WL to Epcot, then bus from Epcot to Pop....assuming Epcot buses are still running, usually until 10 or so.

Trixiezzz: Been thinking about your transportation deal from WL to Pop or from any of the resorts to Pop in the evening. You are running the risk of hitting snags in every direction. You would be better off to have lunch at the resort restaurants (if that's what you want to try) & do dinners at Epcot. Bad part of that plan is not all resort restaurants are open for lunch. For instance, Artist's Point is open for dinner, not lunch at WL; Whispering Canyon open breakfast-lunch-dinner. WDW's bus service is set up to move you from your resort to the parks -- not to other resorts. Resort-to-resort can become really difficult in the evening. For instance if you tried to go from WL to Epcot at 9:00 you would run smack into the fireworks crowd exiting Epcot.

Because of the Hoop da do revue, don't the boats run from Ft Wilderness, to Wildnerness lodge to MK, to return people to their cars at TTC late int eh evening?

Yes, boats run. But from mid-afternoon on they run MK-WL-FWL-MK. It would probably be much faster -- asssuming the bus deal works out -- to take the bus directly from WL to MK. At MK you would take the bus to Pop. There will be no bus transportation from the TTC to any WDW resort after 15 Nov.

If MK closes early, then I assume the only bus/monorail at MK would go to TTC after they stop running. But if they stop busses from TTC from going to Pop, how the heck will people get home from Ft Wilderness and hoop da do?

Things have been getting a little twisted as this thread goes on ;) .

A previous poster mentioned that as of NOv 15 there will no longer be busses going to resorts from TTC. That is correct, but it was in regards to FW and WL busses. Those were the only RESORT busses using TTC. All other RESORT busses go to the MK bus depot anyway, not the TTC (i.e. Pop busses NEVER went to TTC).

When MK closes, people at WL/FW (or any of the MK resorts) can take a bus to Epcot or MGM. If those parks are closed, they need to take a bus to DTD, Then change to the appropriate bus back to their resort.

Regarding Hoop de Do, when MK is closed, Disney SOMETIMES has busses to resorts waiting at FW so people don't have to go to DTD and transfer.

You could also take a bus to DTD and then catch one from there to your resort.
