In case the Magic cancels on Sat how do I get a room using DVC points when the office is closed?

You can contact a DVC resort directly and they can assist with a point (or cash) reservation. I'm not certain that a non-DVC resort can access your DVC information, but you can certainly try.

Good Luck!

Are you sure those will be available? Doc, wouldn't they go into a reservation status?

If DCL cancels a cruise- I'm sure the points will be returned to the contract. I'll be very surprised if that cruise would be cancelled.

Ordinarily, cancelled points from a non-DVC reservation would go into "reservation" status and couldn't be used at a DVC resort- but could still be used for a Disney Collection or Concierge Collection reservation.

per conversations with DVC yesterday there is no room available for our 8nights at any of the DVC resorts - there is a room at one of the moderates

You can use your points for moderates. Like Doc, I doubt Disney is going to cancell a cruise. There are over 3000 people on one of these cruises, they will gamble with any virus and take it as it comes. Don't worry about getting a room, they will find you one if they cancell.

Well Disney did cancel the next Magic Cruise.:(

If all else fails and there's "no room at the Inn", give the Swan/Dolphin a call. Yes, you'll have to pay cash, but they often have good rooms available at the last minute, and great rates for teachers/nurse/government. And in the past they've often had great promotions for rooms in conjunction with a cruise. Just maybe they'll have a "cancelled cruise" special.

I think she has a boatload of points, though, that she will need to use. So whatever is available for points will be better than anything on cash. I hope she has a good time. What a bummer.

This is a shame but hopefully imgoingtodisney will be able to use her points whenever she wants. They should make an exception for DVCers in this type of situation.

The Disney Magic should rename the show Disney Disease as opposed to the current Disney Dreams.

Who knows maybe it will become less popular and therefore point value may decrease.
