I am so confused about the rates listed for RPR. We want to go Aug 9- Aug 15. Southwest gave us a great DING this AM. But I want to be sure about the room. And the tickets. On the Loews web site all I see are the packages, but here others have bought the Adult tickets and get a child's ticket free. HOW DO I KNOW WHAT A GOOD DEAL IS????????????????

I am about to give up book the Dolphin (which has a teacher rate for my dates) and do Disney again! This just seems like a treasure hunt!

Please help!

You usually only have to pay extra per night for adults beyond 2.

2 Adults:

APH Rate = $179.00/Night
AAA Rate = $183.20/Night
Stay 4 Nights Play Free (Tickets) = $229.00
Stay/Play/Eat Free (Kids Dining) = $290.55

- With the APH only 1 in your part must have an annual pass.

I am very partial to the annual pass route due to the perks. You receive 15% on dining virtually resort wide. You get discounts on tickets for everyone else in your party. You get tremendous savings on you room and if you decide that you would like to come back next year (maybe a week earlier) it becomes very inexpensive.

Thank-you. I did call and try to talk to someone at the 800#. She couldn't give me a price without tickets included, which I thought was odd but maybe there are only packages?

Anyway we are a family of 4 (2 adults, DS13, and DD6). She said that I would have to buy DS13 a ticket seperately from the package. DD would be included. So: the play 4 free package at RPR is $229, HR is $259 and PB $289. I plan to spend a little more time on the web site to see if this is the best deal. Any suggestions?

I crunched the numbers again and found the following:

-it is less expensive to get an annual pass for everyone if staying more than 5 days.
-it is cheaper to to go the AP discount route for every resort except RPR
-at this point the sooner that you book the better because rates will only increase as available rooms decrease. I am pretty persistent so I usually check the rates for my dates every couple of days to see if the rate will go down. I have never seen the rates decrease - only increase.
-I have been going several years and these are the best rates that you are probably going to see and there are no other deeper discounts.

Room & Tickets (Total with tax):

PBH:

AP: $1991.12 **1 - Preferred Annual Pass / 3 - 2 Park Power Passes (AP)**
Stay 4: $2191.03 **2 - Free Tickets / 2 - 2 Park Power Passes (AP)**
AAA: $2072.37 **4 - 2 Park Power Passes (AP)**

HRH:

AP: $1924.52 **1 - Preferred Annual Pass / 3 - 2 Park Power Passes (AP)**
Stay 4: $1991.23 **2 - Free Tickets / 2 - 2 Park Power Passes (AP)**
AAA: $2085.03 **4 - 2 Park Power Passes (AP)**

RPR:

AP: $1797.91 **1 - Preferred Annual Pass / 3 - 2 Park Power Passes (AP)**
Stay 4: $1791.43 **2 - Free Tickets / 2 - 2 Park Power Passes (AP)**
AAA: $1752.69 **4 - 2 Park Power Passes (AP)**

Hope this helps and have a great trip.

Disneycrazymom, I feel your pain, LOL - we are newbies to this whole US/IOA/Loews hotel thing and I was ready several times to throw in the towel, right towards Disney's direction!

We are going in August and have somewhat similar family dynamics (DH, me, DS11 who counts as an "adult", then DS9... but we have a 3rd kid, dd6.) I found it to be cheaper, at least for us, to do the buy one adult ticket, get one kid ticket, use for up to 5 days, and get my room separately. I have RPR right now with 2 q beds at club level on a AAA discount for $263. I am waffling a bit - still wondering if it's where we want to be, but I really don't think the rate will get any better. I also still need one more ticket - and am thinking about getting an AP. A few places right now are offering buy one year AP get the 2nd year free - that may be my best bet. We won't be back within 12 mos, but I could easliy see us back within 2, and like another poster said, the perks would be nice (dining discounts alone for 5 people add up!)Oddly enough, the AAA rate for RPR club is better than the APH. I have noticed the APH actually improving a bit since I made my ressies in Jan, but it may be as low as it will go now. One thing to play with - length of stay. I noted that some of the discounts were based on how long you stay - more than 3 mights may net a better discount. SO when you check rates, play a bit with the dates. I used the Loews website to do this. If you want to find out the AP and AAA discounted rates, put "APH" or "AAA" in the promotional code space on the Loews site. It will then list, for the hotel you've selected, all the various room possibilities and corresponding rates. SInce you're talking about nearly a whole week, it shouldn't be a problem though.

Hey, if you DO go to RPR on the 9th, perhaps we will see you there! Our ressies as they stand now are the 9-12th... may POSSIBLY add the 8th, but for now, that's what they are. I am getting excited, but still feel woefully uninformed - especially relative to good ol' Disney, which I know like the back of my hand. Guess I've got some "learnin'" to do! :teacher:

Thank you all for the help. I am back to working on this today and am headed to the Loews site now. I will consider the AP but truthfully I am not sure we would be back within the time (maybe 2 years?) as we are planning on a Colorado trip next summer. Thanks again for all the help! :teeth:
