Next March, my family of 6 will be heading to the Boardwalk Villas for 5 nights. I would love to spend our last two nights over by Universal Studios. It would be wonderful if we could stay at the Portofino, Royal Pacific, or Hard Rock Hotel. Unfortunately, due to family size, I need 2 rooms. Also, this, is the Friday and Saturday before Easter. Any hints or ideas on how to get a discounted room? Any help would be most appreciated!!!

hello!:)
I am just putting the finishing touches on our first trip to Universal so I am not an expert but hope I can help.
Room discounts can be from a variety of sources: AAA (AAA), Entertainment Card,or Universals Annual Passholder(APH).Use the "codes" in () to try for discounts on either Universals website or Lowe's website(owner of the 3 hotels) You have to call to check out the Entertainments rates.
Also if you look into hotelkingdom.com they reportedly had very great rates.
There is a link on the main DIS page for Universal/Islands of Adventure and for Universal Resorts. The boards there are loaded with a ton of info.
If you have any other ?'s feel free to PM me.
Happy trip planning!:wave2:

Hi!
Take into account the per day parking fee at the Loews Resorts, any where from $7-$9 per day plus tax when put on your bill total.
Sign up for the Loews First Club at Loews website.
Also surf over to the USO Forum Disboard.

we had a party of 7 and splurged for 2 rooms at Hard Rock Hotel. We went for it beacause we were there on thanksgiving and the day after. We expected HUGE crowds and wanted FOTL privlidges. Well, it was WELL worth it! The rooms are great, and the resort is the best. You will LOVE the pool area, and the resort is a 10 minute pleasantly landscaped walk to the parks. We got 2 rooms at the entertainment rate. We had to buy a book for $30.00, but is was SO worth it. I think the entertainment rate has the best discounts, and you can book the E rate before you buy a book. If you cannot get the E rate for your stay, check the fan club rates or the AP rates. Just like Disney, it may be worth it to get one person in your party an AP just for the discount. Good luck, and enjoy!:wave2:

FAN Club rate might be another option. That got us the best rate for all 3 nights. (Still a small fortune). There was a nice gal on the Universal boards that would send out a FAN Club card at your request.

We are a partyofsix too! So we use to get two rooms for all of us. With the Nanny we are a partyofseven. Since we visited so much and are platuim status we've enjoyed wonderful upgrades to suites and i only have to buy the one room now. I know it's your first trip but it's something to look forward to. Come visit the uso boards and the hotels thread here on disboards and you'll get tons of advise and find out when special offers can be had. Last year on year on my dd's spring break i book two weeks in advance and landed a 99 special at the HRH! I've got rooms at PBH for 149 and i see 99 specials from time to time at RPR. I hope you have a wonderful time planning your family vacation universal and ioa are wonderful our kids 4,4,4, & 12 love it! Best wishes
