How do I find the worth of a 1985 Chevy Starcraft Conversion Van?

We have the above van, its 24 years old. If I'm not mistaken next year when it's 25 it will be considered a historical vehicle. It has 77k original miles. Body in good condition, no rust, we did some restoration work...we'd like to sell but have no idea what to ask? We have a couple of interested buyers who asked how much we want for it. At first we were thinking 800 bucks to get rid of it but now that we stop and think about it turning historical and having 2 people interested maybe it's worth something or will be if we held on to it another year. I have no clue how to find this out. Any experts out there that can point us in the right direction?

Maybe try eBay motors? There may be a comparable van for sale or one that has recently sold.

Auto Trader goes back to 1981, but I don't see anything called a Starcraft. You can search on just vans, from 1981-1985, theres quite a variety.

Starcraft made campers, if this one had been made constructed to camp, travel, it may list as a camper.
Maybe a search of the Starcraft site.

We have a motor home, dodge class C it has 70,000 miles on it. We figure about $1,200.
But it is a regular motor home, not as good on gas as a Van.
needs tires too.
maybe on craigs list you will find an similar Van

If you can get $800, you should probably grab it and run. I haven't been in the market, but I suspect that all recreational vehicles are dirt cheap right now. People just aren't spending on that sort of thing.

I think I'd ask both of the interested buyers to make you an offer. That should give you an idea of the worth. Maybe these units have a cult following that inflates the value.

I just sold DS's car for $300. That's less than I paid for a set of new tires a month earlier.

So you don't think that the fact that it will be a historical vehicle next year would have any impact on the price? I'm all for dumping it, i guess I'd just be ticked if we let it go for 800 then found out it was worth more. Just trying to figure out if that historical age would make it worth more.

Your van won't be worth anymore more because it's "historic" as defined by the age. It makes getting tags/insurance cheaper (at least in maryland it does, my husband just tagged a 1989 IROC camaro because MD now defines 20 years as "historic").

Starcraft is/was a conversion company. I have a 1996 Chevrolet Mark III conversion van. Mark III was the company who did the conversion (and went bankrupt years ago). The van itself, if I'm to look up the "book value" is a 1996 Chevrolet Express G10 1/2 ton van, that's how it came from the factory (look in the owner's manual for yours). The fact it's a conversion adds a small amount of value, but honestly I've found that conversion vans lose value FAST. Especially when the beast is such as gas guzzler, and gets 15 mpg at best! (but it sure is a sweet ride on those long Disney trips ;) )
It was less than 4 years old when we bought it with 30k miles and in pristine condition (still smelled new inside) and we paid HALF what the original owner paid!

We thought about selling it about a year ago. I've had it for 10 years, it has 119k miles on it and it's VERY clean and extremely well kept. All the bells and whistles, leather interior, power seats, sofabed, tv, game system, fancy lighting and wood cabinets, runs and looks perfect.
I *may* have been able to get $3000 for it on a good day because that's the going market for it.

Honestly I would take whatever someone is willing to pay for it if I were you.
