ok I need help with this one.
I am usually pretty good with planning things but I'm stuck.
Is the only way to really only do one things per night.
Well the trip is me, my hubby and our autistic 6 year old son.
Due to his autism and his problem with being surrounded by several people we have paid for the WOC dining package and the fantasmic desrt package so he has more room (thy allow us in the handicapped section of WOC with his GAC)

We are going to the parks Tuesday March 20th - THursday March 22ns staying at Hojo's.

My son desperately wants to see Medieval Times. That is playing nightly at 7pm.

We only see the first showing of things because our son would not stay up much later than the first showing of things.

We paid for frist showing of Fantasmic on Wednesday (9pm)

Now, how do we do WOC (showing nightly at 8pm and 9:15pm) and the fireworks (showing nightly at 8:40pm) and medieval times (showing nightly at 7pm) with the remaining time left???

See the first WoC and then Fireworks. The problem will be that Fireworks crowds will be quite dense when you get into DL. Try up on the Train Station. It's not a great view but probably a good choice.

While you would be welcome to go into and HCA viewing areas which are near the pathways left open across Miain Street and on the edges of the Hub, these may already be dense with people as they fill up sooner.

Medieval Times takes a big chunk of time from an afternoon evening. MT open their doors about 5pm or 5:30. I think it took us about 20 minutes by cab to get there. I took my grandkids on our last trip. They really enjoy it but it wasn't for me. We didn't get back to the hotel until around 10pm. You might want to check on timing for your travel dates. The cab ride was about $20 each way.

Have you thought about watching the Fireworks from HoJo's? I've never been to HoJo's, so I don't know how their facility is set up. However, I thought they had a viewing deck. You might see if this would be an option for your family.

WOC 8:00 to 8:30 Fireworks 8:40 to ?? Medieval times 4:45pm to 10pm

Tonight at 8:40 get online and see how the timing for the fireworks goes by watching it on HoJo's Mattercam. Here's a link for you.

Doing these three events in two nights is a real undertaking. Especially since MT is a car ride away. The crowd level is going to be a factor too.

On the night you do WOC you might try to catch the fireworks too. Your viewing spot for the fireworks is the challenge. Once WOC wraps, getting out of DCA with the crowd is a chore in its' self.

Good luck on you plans.

I have a 16 year old daughter with Asperger's, and I really think you're being too ambitious. Pick one or the other, seriously. If you try to cram it all in you're going to stress out and you risk a meltdown from your son if all does not work just right. Add a day if you really have to see all 3, or drop one of them.

Is there enough time to get over there after World of Color, how long is WOC?

WoC last 25 or 26 minutes. Somewhere around that and while it may sound like 15 minutes is plenty of time to get to DL it's not quit that easy.

If you view WoC from one of the HAC areas, you still need a show ticket, watch from the back, which makes it easy to leave and get in front of the whole crowd which is also going toward the exit. Those HAC area are also not too packed so that is the best spot for you to watch for DS as well. You can be on the steps so you are elevated as well to help with the view.

Hmm, the OP says that they are doing the WOC preferred dining? OP, you say this is because they will allow you to do the handicapped section with his GAC? This is not something only available to those choosing the preferred dining package. If you wanted to save money, you could just get a free fast pass for the show and view from the handicap section. You'll still have to deal with line-ups in the preferred area so I'm not sure it will totally alleviate your son's problem with being surrounded by people.

On Wed, you can be seated at 830 for the first Fantasmic! and watch the fireworks from that area. You can see WoC on Tues, and Medieval times on Thurs. (Or vice versa...) The lineup area for WoC in the preferred dining area is considerably less congested. If you can have your spouse line up, you can take your son back into the trattoria area and relax a little until just prior to the escort to the area. Just a word of warning, the HCA area is still somewhat crowded.

In a perfect world.... What would the best time for them to be seated? Is 8:30 the earliest?

It's nice to know they can see the fireworks from the Fantasmic seating area. That should help a little bit. They have a pretty full agenda for three days.

Minuet888 the days are ticking away. Besure to take an extra breath every once in a while. Don't let it bother you if things don't go as you'd like. Keep in mind you're on vacation. I know you'll have fun!!! You're going to Disneyland silly.

Have a great time now.

two different handicap seating areas and the dining package one is better
more room and honestly doesn't fill up and isn't as crowded.
Not as many people do the dinner package (AND are handicapped) so there were only like four small groups in our area and made it wonderful for our son

I am more worried about me being tried and having a meltodown before my son, he is ADHD along with him autism so he is amways go go go go go
if he sees the fireworks he stops and WONT MOVE becaue it is something to see

I haven't seen the fireworks in FOREVER so a question evem iof I watch frieworks from Fantasmic seating you can't hear the music and don't they show things on the castle? Tinkerbell?? Dumbo??

We will want to see those things

Also Medieval times does NOT take up that much time, we will drive down there but they don't start seating until 15 minutes before the show and we already have our tickets so we really don't need to be there until 6:15pm. He is WAY too excited for Medieval Times (and we are taking our car not a cab)

We have an annual pass its just we usually don't stay for the night stuff because we are too beat to drive the 100 minutes home. Thats why we are doing the hotel (taxes were nice to us and its spring break)

The music is also in NOS, and the effects are also shown on the island. But seeing them from Fantasmic!, you will miss seeing Tinkerbelle. It really is not possible to see both WoC and fireworks in one night. From the end of WoC to the start of the fireworks, you will have less than 10 mins. Even if you do make it to the train station, it isn't the best area to be able to see the special effects of the castle or Tink flying. You really need to take the time to stake out a spot in front of the castle if it is this important to you (spoken by someone who frequently stakes out 2-3 hours in advance for fireworks.)

Well less than 48 hours to go,
We leave the house at 2pm Tuesday and will probablty get to hojos around 4pm.

Here's the schedule we have for now

Tuesday 5:10 Ariel's Grotta reservations for the 8pm WOC showing (we are going to try to get to fireworks but if not may just watch them from Fantasmic)

Wednesday 9pm Fantasmic Desert showing

Thursday 7pm Medieval Times Dinner Theater.

They did say guest services may be able to help us out with finding a more secluded place for my son during fireworks time, if we can just race over there in time they said they MIGHT be able to save us a spot but we have to go to city hall the day of and speak to a certain person.

if not it's no big deal as we have premium annual passes and only live 100 miles away.

Good luck, I've got my fingers crossed for you. Let us know how it goes.

Since you have the Fantasmic! seating I'd just savor watching the fireworks from there and not worry about the castle viewing.

Have a great trip!
