Family wants Ham for Christmas dinner. How do I cook that?????

And what should I make with it? I'm a roast kind of girl. Have no idea what to do with a ham.

OY!

Check the label. Most hams are already fully cooked. You can serve it cold or just warm it in the oven or microwave before serving.

Really you are heating it up in the oven. Some people do the whole pineapple thing on top. I don't know how that is done.

We are boring and we eat it plain. I cover mine in foil so it doesn't dry out. I like Double-G ham.
You can get it presliced or not. If you get it presliced you can just heat it up in the microwave if you want. That is very easy.

My mom (not joking) adds a whole can of coke to it in a roaster pan. I don't have the heart to do that but she swears it keeps the ham from drying out.

When I make ham I have to make augratin potatoes. Why I don't know?

I usually put crushed pineapple or pineapple rings on it and put it in the oven according to the directions on the package.

I cook mine in the crock pot - couldn't be easier. Pour 1/2 cup water into your crock pot. Wrap your pre-cooked ham in tin foil and put in the crock pot. The water keeps it from drying out and it heats through beautifully!

If your pinched for time, throw it in on high. I like to put mine on low and let it go - haven't dried one out yet!

I make mine in the crockpot. I just add a little water and sprinkle brown sugar on it. I buy a boneless Hormel Cure 81 ham. Those are my favorite. MIL even switched after I made her one! LOL!

I like to serve some kind of cheesy potato. Scalloped potatoes or a really good potato casserole. And a veggie of some kind. :)

OK... the first thing you want to do is go to Sam's Club and buy a spiral sliced ham. The price is good on these per pound and they come with a glaze packet. There are instructions on the ham as to how long to bake it, on low heat. About 1/2 hour before it's done, you make the glaze packet per the instructions on it and brush it on the ham.

You will NEVER have as good a ham as this. The glaze is absolutely the best I've tasted.

Aside from getting a Heavenly Ham, it is also the second easiest way to prepare one.

Country Ham...Yum! Doesn't anyone cook country hams??

Ahhh, the sodium. Salt, the official taste of Christmas!:D

Easy and delicious. Follow the directions on the package....they are the best with the galze!!!!

The country hams have directions in the bag. You can make a foil pouch with a bit of water inside and bake at low temp for a long time. Or cook it for a couple of minutes at something like 500', then leave the oven closed the rest of the day with the oven off....that one always scares me because I'm convinced it couldn't be done inside. Maybe there is so much salt nasty bacteria couldn't even survive.

Gotta love the country ham directions...soak for 24 hours after removing all the mold from the ham with a stiff brush.

You people from the west or north probably think I'm nuts!
