I wonder if anyone can help me please?

How do I check prices on the US website without it reverting automatically back to the UK site?

The reason I am asking this is that for a section of our December holiday we are contemplating staying onsite with the dining package. However - as we have annual passes they will not let us add dining package to our hotel booking on the UK site..... bizarre but true!!

The price they quoted over phone for a booking through the US site (where they will allow adding DD package), worked out at £400 more! I want to double check it myself but can't as it sends me back to UK site!

You need to go into USA in Spanish- that's the only way I have managed to do it recently

Thanks for the replies. I have looked at each of the options, Spanish site and Dreams Unlimited but neither will let me book or even enquire on a room only basis, they both want me to add a 'Magic your Way' package with ticket and dining.

What is it you're trying to get a price for? Dining plan? If so, you have to book a package to include at least a 1-day ticket as far as I'm aware. I don't think you can add dining to a room only booking.

Another alternative is an AP package - information below from Mousesavers.

Annual Passholder Packages with Dining Plan

Discounted Annual Passholder Packages with Dining are usually offered for any time period when Annual Passholder room only discounts are also available. There is a room discount, but the Dining Plans are priced at the regular rate. These bookings are subject to regular Walt Disney Travel Company package rules.

You can book room only on the US site just make sure that you highlight room only and not packages but to do dining you need to buy the tickets on line or phone.

Thanks for trying to help.

What I am trying to do is book 9 nights from 22nd December to 31st December 2013 room only PLUS the dining package. I obviously realise this is not free and will cost us an additional £1k to the price.

I called them direct today and was told that as I am not buying tickets with this booking I am unable to book the Disney dining package as well. We upgraded to Annual passes during our trip a month ago, so therefore do not need to book more tickets, just the room and dining plan.

I was astonished that they said we were unable to add the dining through the Uk site! Why would they rather that we didn't spend another 1k with them? It just doesn't make sense to me!!

We were told that the only way that we could add the dining was to book through the US direct.

Even though this is a popular time for UK citizens to book, it's not AS popular as for US citizens (due to them having far less annual leave than we do in the UK I guess). Therefore the prices for room only were much higher.

I was just wanting to play around a bit on the US site to check prices at different resorts. We already have a booking for the first 12 nights where we will be eating offsite each day and just thought it would be nice to add quite a few special meals and character meals for Christmas time.

I honestly don't think you can book the dining plan if you're not booking a package. The only exception is as I posted above (the AP package) or if you are a DVC member. The whole point of the dining plan is it's part of a package, which includes accommodation and tickets.

ETA: I was right, the dining plan can only be added as part of a MYW package unless you are a DVC member.

How do I buy the Dining Plan?

The Disney Dining Plan must be purchased as part of a Magic Your Way package which includes your Disney hotel stay, theme park tickets, and the Dining Plan. There are some modifications to this requirement for Disney Vacation Club members and Walt Disney World annual pass holders. Unless you are a DVC member or AP holder, you can ONLY get the Disney Dining Plan if you also purchase a hotel stay and park tickets as a package. You can buy a Magic Your Way package on the Walt Disney World website, over the phone at 407-WDW-MAGIC, or through an authorized travel agent or vacation planner.

If you've got APs why not just book room only and then buy the TIW, which will get you a 20% discount on food and alcoholic beverges at most TS locations (and some CS). Would probably be a better deal than paying for the dining plan.

Wilma-bride, thank you so much, you have been really helpful this evening. Just off to check out TIW, good idea, I hadn't thought about that!

Jane.

i suggest calling direct to the US reservation number (+1-407-WDISNEY)

i just called them yesterday to book a dining plan package for annual passholders..
No problem at all.

They gave me the AP room discount rate for the room and then added on the dining plan - and i didn't have to buy any theme park ticket at all.
