how do I check my security software

& make sure I didn't turn it off - I know I fooled around with it months ago when I had a virus & I was pretty sure I reinstalled it but all the sudden I'm getting popups on here that I've never gotten before - so maybe I didn't. How do I check & make sure its actively running & not just the icon I see?

if it's norton..there's an icon in the taskbar..if you right click it..it gives you options like turn on, turn off, etc..I would guess that all of them have some kind of icon like that..you could also go to start, programs, look thru the list to find the one you have, and open it that way to check it?

maybe your pop up blocker just got turned off? right click on the top of your browser and see if its turned on. Also if you are getting pop ups telling you your security software is disabled-that is in fact a virus-close the window by alt f 4 or by closing teh site that i popped up on-anything else will install the virus on your computer.
