How do I Book at 7 months ? help

We have reservations for ten nights at our home resort riviera . It’s our first DVC stay so I’m still learning .
kids have decided They would Liam to try another resort for a couple of nights .. the first would be an additional night and the second would be our first night scheduled at riviera ?
how do I do this ? Do I book the first night right at 7 months ? Then so I waitlst the second night the next day ? I don’t want to cancel riviera until I have another place booked

You should be able to book both nights at 7 months if available

NO, there will not be any automatic cancellation.

After you book the two nights you want at the other resort, use the MODIFY feature to change your Riviera reservation to the dates you want.

This works because you have enough points to book the two nights you want without having to use the points from the Riviera reservation, AND because you are dropping the first night of the existing reservation. This would also work if you were dropping the last night, but would NOT work if you wanted to drop nights in the middle of the existing reservation.
