I am sure this question has been asked so many times before but I never realised you could digi scapbook??!! I love the idea of it and as I am *slightly* more technical than I am arty this sounds the ideal thing to do.

I just don't know where to start??

Is anyone able to help??

I've been having great fun with "Polaroid My Memories Suite" software, I don't know if it is what you are looking for, but I use it to make scrapbook pages with my digital pictures and then I can get them printed out as a book!

I didn't realize it until recently myself. I was looking at making a digital photobook on Shutterfly or a similar site, which I'd done before, but I was never really excited about the lack of layout and background options. I noticed they had a member gallery where you could view other people's books. After looking at them, I realized that these other people were on to something - somehow they managed to make really awesome looking pages that looked like regular scrapbooks - they weren't using the few options given on the Shutterfly site. I didn't know how they did it so I started searching on the web. I found a really great site called digitalscrapbookplace.com, that has awesome tutorials. Basically, you use a graphics program to compose your pages on the computer, then you upload the entire page as one jpeg to the book you're creating on a photo printing site. Obviously its a little more complicated than that, but that's the gist of it. Right now, I'm trying to figure out which graphics program I want to use. So I'm totally a beginner myself! I'm sure some expert will come along to give you some additional info.

Many of us here use Creative Memories Storybook Plus 3.0. With it, you can bring in papers and embellishments. You can use templates or create your layouts digitally from scratch.

Creative Memories does have a free version of Storybook however you can't make changes to the layout but you will get a feel for the program to see if it is something you would like to invest in.

I started with Photoshop Elements when I bought it to work with organizing and editing my photos. I started learning how to digi-scrap with it with Jessica Sprague's online classes. They're easy to follow and the more I played around with it, the more I caught on.

Good luck!

Thanks for the replies. I have Photoshop Elements 6 and I already make Photobooks on Kodak and Photobox so I am half way there :) I just need to use something better to make my pages look more like scrapbook pages! I just ordered Digi-Scrapbooking for Dummies from Amazon so I hope that will help me in some way! I can't wait to get started!!

Digi Scrapping for Dummies is probably a great place to start! I have Photoshop Elements, and I started by playing around a little (and some friends gave me some pointers). I tell most people once you figure out how to group things, the easiest way to start is by using a template just to get to started in how to lay things out doing it on the computer. Scrap Matters web site has free templates every week for a challenge (in their forums), so you can hop over there and try them out! They are always fun! Good luck with your new hobby!
