How do flight prices work?

Hiya,

Sorry if this is a really stupid question but I'm looking at flying from LGW to MCO on 4th December & returning on 26th or 27th.

The flight out with BA came out at £242 & is still that price but the flight back on 27th was £275 & now its just jumped to £333. Is that becauase quite a few seats have been booked?

Also, will these prices only go down in the next sale (after this one ends on 9th Feb), or do they randomly go down?

Generally speaking (and I'm no expert) flights are divided into 'classes'.
So the whole of economy is broken down into a number of these classes, all priced differently. The cheaper ones are sold first, then the next cheapest and so on making the prices go up as time goes by.

As far as I am aware that's right re the classes - they have say 2 seat at £100, 3 seats at £150 etc etc.

I'm not sure if the seats will come down in price with another sale - you just have to be mindful that there are now less airlines flying to Orlando directly now so it's a game of supply and demand.

I think my flight out may come down as it's off peak but my flight back might go up as it's peak season (I think).

Think I'd better book just so I can stop thinking & talking about it all the time. I'm beginning to bore people!

£1988 2 adults & 2 kids isn't too bad anyway.
