Any recent returnees have any input?

We're splitting our early December trip between the Poly and the the BC. How disruptive have you found the rehab to be?

Should we switch to the YC? Spend all 8 days at the Poly?...

TIA.

Judy

We just returned from BC (8/23-827). The pool area is under construction. They have draped white nylon-like cloths around the work areas. It is not too bad. However, if your looking for quite this is not the place. Lots of construction noise by pool. They were beginning inside rehab as we were leaving. Hopefully by the time you arrive the pool will be completed.
We did stay at GF when that was under rehab -- and it was not a problem at all. Any questions- just ask.

Splashfamily: The pool which is under construction, is this the quiet pool or Stromalong Bay?

Thanks

The construction is all around Stromalongbay. The pool is open and so is the slide. You just can't swim continously around the pool. After a day or so we got use to it.

Do you know when the refurb. will be completed? My husband and I will be there 9/28, any chance they will be completed by then?

I believe BC Refurbishment was scheduled to start after the YC was finished. I think there were more specifics on the YC?BC thread, and another site with more details is www.wdwig.com - it says
Extensive renovations in the guest rooms begins in October when the Yacht Club renovations are completed -- look for new furniture, carpet, tvs and more. Renovations should be completed in March of 2003.

Do check the YC/BC thread though - it sounds like they are making good progress (i.e. ahead of schedule) if they are already working on rooms at the BC and it's just September.

How badly does this affect Stormalong Bay pool users? Is it a mess?

A bit worried,

The pool at Stromalong Bay is very large. It was designed to allow swimmers to access all area w/o getting out of the water. When we were at BC 8-23 / 8/27 the pool was blocked off by some of the waterfalls. Guests still had lots of space to swim around. My kids did not seem to mind the inconvience. In fact, it their favorite pool. It was the construction noise that I did not care for. Lots of drilling, and hammering. (But it's rehab season, and we knew that)
