How difficult is it to get one of the free washer and dryer at the BWV? I am debating packing less clothes for my next trip, and doing a wash mid trip. I'm wondering if I will wind up having to wait all day to use a washer and dryer. In your experience, when is the best time to hit the laundry room? I know the larger units have washers and dryers in them, but I'll be in a studio.

How many washers and dryers are there in the laundry room? Is the laundry room open 24 hours? (Silly me is thinking can I run back to my room from Jellyrolls at midnight, throw on a load of laundry, and run back at 1:00 to throw it in the dryer so they'll be done when the bar closes--haha).

Thanks.

My experience has been pretty good at getting a washer/dryer at the Boardwalk. Only once did I have to wait for a machine, but only about 15 minutes. I usually do my laundry late in the day after dinner (anytime after 7-midnight) This past trip when I was in a studio at SS, I had gone in the morning and everything was full at the laundry by the quiet pool and the bigger laundry facility by the main pool was also full! I had said to myself then that the morning must not be the time to be doing laundry!

Oops I forgot to add the count of the washer/dryers. I think there wer 2 or 3 washers and 6 dryers.

Hope this helps

TLinden16, :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: Now thats my way of thinking. Drop in some laundry and heading back to Jellyrolls. I'm staying at the bwv myself for the first time in little over a month just so i'll have easy acces to JR  . Susan

If you have a 1bedrm or larger, they are in your rm.

I've never had a problem using the washer at night. I usually put it in then go for a swim and sit in the hottub about 10-11pm or so. Never a problem and you get a quiet swim in also.

If you are using the laundry room at the DVC resorts, please make sure you keep an eye on your laundry, so that others can use the washers and dryers, too. If you don't remove yours when it is done, others can't use the washers and dryers. With 30 minutes to wash and about 20 minutes per cycle on the dryer, it's hard to leave the building and go somewhere else. You barely have time to go back to your villa before you have to head back to the laundry room.

And if you do leave your stuff for an extended period of time, don't be surprised if you find it on the table in the room or in your laundry basket/bag.

Thanks everyone! Good to know all this. And especially good to know that the dryer runs in short cycles. Don't want to tick people who are waiting off :)
