How difficult is it to add a day?

I have rented points date removed. I found out today it is very likely I could add a day to the front end of the trip, but would very much like to avoid changing rooms after the first night. I have inquired to the person I rented from about adding a day on the front end, but if that fails, what are my chances of staying at the same resort the night before and not having to change rooms although it is a different reservation.

Thanks in advance!

If you are not SSR or OKW, it is short dist out. I think you end up paying cash for the 1 night, if you are a member I think they can link them, even if they are rented points. (Though I am not sure on that.) You should end up in the same room, but no garentees.

We are at resort removed.

I am not a member. No issue for me paying cash as long as we don't have to move.

If we have to change rooms, I might as well stay offsite the first night

The Member cash discount is available only for DVC Members who are occupying the villa, not for rentals.

Points reservations can be linked so you would not have to move. If you book via CRO (not addressing Member cash rooms) you would not be able to link them, though you could make a request at check in, if possible.

There are some great deals off site, as well as at some of the Value resorts. Good luck!

Let me start by saying my experience was many years ago so I'm not sure if things would be different.

Before we owned DVC we rented points from a member. We wanted to add another night to the reservation but the owner did not have any additional points for us to rent from her. She called and made the cash reservation for the additional night and linked the points reservation and cash reservation together, which allowed us to stay in the same room. We paid her for the additional night which she got at the discounted DVC rate.

Sorry. Didn't mean to break any rules. Thanks for the info.
