How did your holidays surprises go?

I had PLANNED on surprising my DH with the trip for xmas, but one of my customers beat to it! She called because I had a candle show scheduled during my trip, and I had left her a message that I needed to reschedule for my SURPRISE WDW trip. Well, she told DH to have me "pick a date after disney world". I can home to a big smile, but not the shock I wanted!

My kids already knew about our upcoming WDW trip, but I held back a surprise for 10yo DD. She and I are flying down a couple of days ahead of time to visit a marine biologist (sister of a friend of mine) in her lab, and to go to Seaworld. Her final Christmas present was a framed picture of a Discovery Cove ad, with her head on it instead of the girl in the ad. The frame said, "Kiss your dreams hello!" (the DC ad slogan.) She didn't get it until I asked her, "Do you know what this means?" Then she burst into tears! (Of joy, of course.)

Let's just say she's more than a little excited!

Our surprise trip was the trip of a lifetime. The kids ended up knowing about the trip. We went to my husband's Christmas party at work. He was told to go ahead and go on leave early. ( he is in the military) We picked the kids up from school early, they were so excited. I couldn't have asked for a better trip. CM's where great, met some very nice people. I am now planning next years Magical Gathering. Now up to 24 people.

I emailed everyone at my DH's work and got him off. I was planning a trip last January and I was going to tell him at Christmas for his present. Everyone knew. My mom gave us the airfare for Christmas and I had booked a package. I even had the spending money saved up and the babysitting for our two kids the entire weekend.

Approx. 1 week before Christmas, my DH instant messages me to tell me that he is taking me to Atlanta on my B-day week (the weekend we were going to Disney) because work had scheduled him to go. Well, I told him tell them no and after arguing back and forth for like an hour on IM...I had to tell him. Needless to say he went back and told them all. I offered to change our date, but the rate would have increased and the airfare would have been a lot to change. So they found someone else to go to Atlanta.

He came home with a huge smile too, but I was soooo looking forward to telling him Christmas morning. I plan to try to suprise him again on his 30th b-day, but that is 4 years away and I would take the kids with us!
