This year our trip to Disney World was one of the Christmas gifts we gave our kids. I got a giant box that I wrapped up for them to open... I lined the inside of the box with disney gift wrap and filled it with helium balloons and things that we typically take on our trips like princess dresses, glow sticks, autograph books, disney toys, disney shirts - some old favorites and some new things... I also put in our letter from Walt Disney Travel Co with our package information, a copy of the Disney vacation video, our customized maps and a countdown chain.

When they opened the box, the helium balloons floated out with lots of streamers tied to them making it really festive, like a party in a box. The kids were so excited... and so am I!

We're telling our 3.5 year old son tonight, since it is the last night of Hanukkah and we leave in 5 days. I am going to make a little countdown for him that we can use each night. We have a t-shirt to give him and I think Mickey will send him a letter, which we'll read outloud together.

After they opened their Santa gifts and stockings, we told them we had one more gift for them. It was a big box, and on the outside there was a card that said something like "This year you are getting a VERY big SURPRISE gift from mom and dad, but first you have to figure out..." and then when they opened the box, there was a globe, and a note attached to it that said "Where in the WORLD are we going?" There was also a clue that sent them on a scavenger hunt around the house that eventually brought them BACK to the tree, where we had put another box that said on the outside of it "Congrats, you did it! Now open and see just where we are going on January 23!" And inside there was TONS of Disney paraphenalia.

They LOVED it, and said it was their best Christmas ever!:yay:

I bought a disney puzzle, pieced it together myself and wrote - Will you visit us on the back of four pieces then wrapped them in a disney "treasure box" from the dollar store. Split the remaining pieces into four groups and wrapped for the 2 kids and mum and dad. We opened them and made the puzzle but the 4 were missing. When the kids finally found the original four the puzzle was complete but they still didn't get it.

Two more gifts hidden in the tree. Disney countdown calendars that I made. The front page said "We are going to DisneyWorld in 33 days" - they tear a page away everyday - we're down to 25 now!

I also added in some Disney themed presents throughout the day too- tshirts, puzzles, etc.

Worked really well!
