How did you incorporate your wedding photos?

I'm embarrassed to say that it's been almost 3 months since my wedding, and aside from the photo books I have made, I dont have any wedding pictures up in my house. I am just not sure where and how big at this point. DH thinks most people dont have a bunch of wedding pictures up around their house, but I think people might... What did you guys do? Just one picture framed somewhere or a couple throughout the house? Group shots, just the two of you?

I would love to see pics if you have them! Thanks :goodvibes

Well, speaking as someone who has been married for a little while (4 years this past October), a few wedding pictures are nice to look at, but I wouldn't go crazy and have a giant portrait above the couch or the fireplace - just my personal opinion. A couple months after we got married I found a frame that matches our dining room furniture. It has 3 openings for 4x6 pictures, so I picked 3 of the two of us that were sort of a set - our photographer took them one after the other and we both really liked them. I put them in the frame and hung it on an empty wall in our dining room. The whole thing is probably 16 inches across by 8 inches high. We get so many compliments on that frame and those pictures! Seriously, everyone who visits our house says how nice it looks; understated, but beautiful. When we were first married I had 4 or 5 framed wedding pictures in the living room (DH and me; me and MOH; a group shot) but now that we've taken trips and have so many more current and fun pictures, the wedding ones have come down and I prefer looking at the newer pictures. We have one wedding picture, formal of the two of us, framed on our side table in our living room and one in our bedroom on the dresser ("the kiss"), both 5x6. I figure we'll always have the dining room frame up but I'll probably move the one in the living room at some point.

Well, since we did the MK shoot and have one of us in front of the castle that we just loved, we do have a 16 x 20 of that in our livingroom. Had we not had the MK shoot, we wouldn't have one that big, but to get the castle in all its beauty, we went large. Besides that, we do have a 5 x 7 on the fireplace and in the curio in our bedroom with by bouquet and various momentos, we have a triple frame with 2-4x6 on each side of a 5x7. The 5x7 is of us together and the 4x6's are each of us by ouselves.

We get tons of compliments on the MK picture, so I don't see that one coming down anytime soon. The others of us are smaller and not so WOW, so they will likely stay put for a while as well.

I agree that as you get more update photos you tend to scale down the numbers of wedding ones over time, but I see nothing wrong with a couple out and about or a big one if there is definate WOW factor to it.

When my daughter was younger, my living room was a "shrine" of all her great pictures and now that she is a teenager, all but a couple of them are tucked away.

It's just a personal preference.....

Our wedding isn't until August, but I plan on just getting a digital frame, this way you can have it scroll through a bunch of different wedding photos and then over time you can add new photos to it.

For our engagement pics I did have two printed up 8x10 and got nice frames for them. But we haven't gotten around to hanging them up anywhere yet. I'm sure we'll get a print or two from the wedding too to hang up. It's tough because we're in an apt right now so there's not much space, but when we have a house it may be easier to find places to put things up.

I just have a 5 x 7 photo from our wedding in our bedroom. We have friends with giant wedding pictures hanging all over their house, but that's just not us. I do have my wedding photo album & scrapbook in my living room. I love having them around to flip through from time to time, and guests enjoy looking through them as well.

I'm not big on wedding photos all over the place. My best friend has a home that is a practical shrine to her wedding and if I were to be honest, I think it's ridiculous. It's personal taste and style, but her home is definitely not my taste or style.

I have a digital photo frame that cycles with my wedding pictures, as well as thousands of other pictures. (I actually want to get a second digital frame, so that I can have my vertical pictures and my horizontal ones.) Other then that, I have one framed photo of us in the bedroom, and one of all my best friends - which will get replaced if I ever get a great photo of us all together again!

When I get my MK photos this May (three years of waiting for them to be $99!) I will finish my Blurb wedding album and it will go on the shelf with all my other photo books and scrap books. But I don't make people look at those, they're just for me.

I have been married over a year and we don't have a single pic up so don't feel bad! I haven't found any frames I like and I am in no hurry. I am a minimalist so I have to find the exact frame I like and I think most picture frames are fugly, and the one or two I have liked have been like 300$ and I won't spend that, so I will wait. We will still be married for a while :) I figure until then I can just post some pics here :) The only pics we have up of us are one in a beautiful orange amer frame that is a 4x6 and it is just a regular pic and it is on our coffee table. We do have the leather portfolio from our honeymoon shoot up when you walk in on an end table but we aren't in wedding clothes. Other than that pics are decorative in our house, not photographs.

I'm not married (don't even have a boyfriend), and I'm actually just a lurker on this board... But my best friend was married a few years ago. Their TV cabinet has a few wedding photos and their marriage license in frames on top, and a couple honeymoon photos around the living room. They got married in a suburb of Chicago. My parents have their wedding photo in a group frame with the photos of my two sets of grandparents on either side.

For our home reception we had two collage posters made, sized 15"x12". We framed them and put them on display so the guests could look at them.

These are now in our living room above the TV. We got a large number of frames as wedding gifts, so we will add a couple more (probably in the bedroom) but aside from that we just have up the Mickey and Minnie wedding cross stitchsampler that my mum made for us.

I have pictures all over our place. To me, that was the entire point of paying for them. I didn't spend $1000+ on pictures and $100+ on hair/makeup to have them sitting on a shelf. The days of college life and white walls with nothing on them are over. Obviously, we have other decorations and stuff on the walls in addition to all the wedding stuff.

As far as personal pictures go, I have some pictures of my family and a couple of me and DH before the wedding; but most personal pics are from the wedding. They are the only good pictures of ourselves we have :rotfl: We just got back from an x-mas trip and there is literally only good picture of us. And of course I bought a frame and it's already on a bookshelf ;)

Once we have kids or do something interesting, I will replace some of the frames that have wedding stuff with those pictures. Until then, whatever...I'd rather look at pictures of our happiest day everyday than a white wall or generic prints of cats from Target or something.

As of now, we only have one 8x10 in a frame on our record cabinet (that's right, vinyl!) that Randy took.
BUT, we did just receive our Disney Photography prints that I had picked out which includes an 11x14 which I can't wait to get framed and hang, along with a number of 8x10's and 5x7's...

We won't have a "shrine", but when I finally get to go through all my Randy pics, we'll have an official album plus a few pics hanging around.

Not overkill for sure I think. I'm thinking it will be a nice amount. Our apartment is small and we'll be here for at least the next few years, so we can't get anything too big right now anyway.

That being said.....I just want to say to PrincessShea...I LOVE that poster size enlargement!!!:thumbsup2

I kid you not! In their kitchen/dining room one wall is multiple wedding pictures (probably 15 or so). Then the upstairs living room has another wall of 7 or so pictures, also in that room is the window area were they have their cake topper, centerpieces (2), more pictures in frames, dried flowers, their guest book, and multiple albums to show anyone who sits down all displayed on one of the table cloths from the head table. THEN in their bedroom there are more photos and her wedding sari (Indian wedding) on the wall as a display.

I honestly didn't mean to make anyone defensive with the "shrine" comment, though. :flower3:
